In the court (and courts) of life and death, a little 11-year-old Massachusetts girl named Haleigh Poutre could be the next Terri Schiavo. For those who have not heard the tragic story, Haleigh was beaten nearly to death last September, allegedly by her adoptive mother and stepfather. The beating left her unconscious and barely clinging to life.
Within a week or so of the beating, her doctors had written her off. They apparently told Haleigh's court-appointed guardian, Harry Spence, that she was "virtually brain dead." Even though he had never visited her, Spence quickly went to court seeking permission to remove her respirator and feeding tube. The court agreed, a decision affirmed recently by the supreme court of Massachusetts.
And so, no doubt with the best of intentions, a little girl who had already suffered so much was stripped by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts of even the chance to fight to stay alive. If she didn't stop breathing when the respirator was removed, which doctors expected, she would slowly dehydrate to death.
Close Call
Then came the unexpected:

Sorry 8mm, water wasn't safe for her to drink. It would of hurt her. That is what I've been told.
Like Hildy?
OK, I accept that, you're right. Somebody may have slipped her bad water and made her sick.
That is also why they had a couple of armed guards at her door, to protect her from anyone who ran the gauntlet of armed guards outside and survived the shooting, to rush in with bad tasting water.
Well said.... and very sad.
Not exactly. Even good water MAY of made her sick. That is what I've been told. Aspiration MIGHT make someone dead. The autopsy proved it you know...
How could she have asphixiated? She wasn't allowed ANY liquids, not even a drop.
Not asphyxiated. It is called aspirated pneumonia. That is something the other side relies on to justify straving her to death.
Where did you see the other four hours that clearly showed no cognition? They were never made public.
Quentin - you can't see her reacting to her father??? She's laughing cuz she REMEMBERS!!!! You can't see that? Look at it again. It's pretty obvioius how alert she is. And then to kill someone like that???
Why do let people control you now? I am confused on that. Why don't you just stop eating and drinking. It is a beautiful thing you know, after all, Felos told you so.
And, so what if she wasn't "cognitive" for 4 hours. Does that give anyone the right to kill her??? When you're asleep, you're not cognitive at that particular time. Is that the time when you should be killed?
8mm, I would like to discuss further with you, if you and the others decide my presence here is acceptable to you. However, I must leave for tonight, and will only be able to continue in the morning. (I take some heavy-duty medications, and once they kick in--which they will soon do--I am pretty much out of it.) I hope you all have a good night.
And Quentin, people (like me) on the Freeper threads do react in disbelief, or argue or vent, or even agree with you; that doesn't mean you should run away. That's what this thread is for - to COMMUNICATE. K? Heck, I keep trying to get these Freeper compatriots of mine to just view the video. Commenting on it would be nice, too. : - )
Sounds like you like to avoid the truth, if possible. Where is the other 4 hours of Video that you remember so well.
From the autopsy summary...

Could Mrs. Schiavo eat by mouth?
No: Mrs. Schiavo would not have been able to consume sustenance safely and/or in sufficient quantity by mouth. In fact, the records and findings are such that oral feedings in quantities sufficient to sustain life would have certainly resulted in aspiration. Thus, Mrs. Schiavo was dependent on nutrition and hydration via her feeding tube.
Thank you for your report. I would hate to think what would of happened to Terri if we didn't know that. I agree with you, don't give her a chance to prove you wrong...
I just did. I've seen it before. Her dad isn't going to win any awards for stand-up comedy, but Terri laughed anyway, in her fashion.
Reminds me of that video of Doc "Humane Death" Cranford (his own term) examining her and vigorously complimenting her for passing a test. Afterward he wrote up a report saying, in effect, she was a vegetable and couldn't possibly do what he had just witnessed and complimented her for doing.
There is no understanding death doctors. For them, it's "kill 'em all."
He had the nerve to tell the Shindlers how well she had done also after those tests. The Shindlers couldn't believe it when he took the stand in court.
PAC will support lawmakers who SUPPORTED Terri Schiavo:
