My wife has Dr. Phil on TiVo who is talking about 13 people all living in the same trailer. Frankly, that terrifies me.

How bout, I'm sending the national guard to the border immediately.

Uh, lets see, I have signed an executive order dissolving the IRS and the FIT.

Maybe, I have ordered our forces to shock and awe the Syrians and the Iranians.

Protect the American worker and put tariffs on all products made in China.

I will no doubt enjoy this, but I read today that this concept of the President giving a speech was not always the protocol.
It seems that President Jefferson elected to fulfill his Constitutional duty to report on the state of the Union by writing a letter to the Congress. He thought addressing Congress was too monarchical.
That tradition held for 112 years, until President Wilson busted it.
Since then, it has devolved into "showboat politics".
Call me a Jeffersonian liberal, if you want, but this whole thing has become quite unseemly. Live theatre.
I think I will enjoy it nonetheless (except for the promises of more, expanded big government).

Thank you. I hate to keep pestering people for clarifications, but this really seems like another language here. Und, eins muss ich sagen: es ist manchmal doch ziehmlich schwerig zu verstehen.
