Good morning, all.

Join us today for the final victory lap, the vote to "confirm Samuel Alito, of New Jersey, to be an Associate Justice of the Supreme Court."

It's all over except the final vote tally.

Lots of surprises yesterday at the HUGE vote to impose cloture, so perhaps there are still some surprise votes to come?

Is Reid actually suggesting that Alito will somehow ban birth control?

Oh, no! We'll all be breeding like tribbles!

Looks like the "Gang Of 25" are holding their collective breaths and votes until their faces turn blue, to show they are being steamrolled in all of this. ;-)

I note that Bayh did not vote initially. A possible change of heart?

Chafee also did not record a vote.

More time for Harry? What can he possibly say that he hasn't previously said 40 times in the last week?

He's giving Samuel Alito a lesson in how "fair and truthful" liberals are - in other words - they're not to be trusted.

Had the dems been good sports about losing control of the Senate and allowed President Bush the dignity of his own nominees to the Supreme Court, dems would have gained in stature. This way, they've shown the world how mean spirited they are when they don't get their way. That helps us.

Also, if Samuel Alito ever has a doubt about what side he's on, he can remember how unfair dems were to him - to his wife, and to all of us. He'll remember the half truths, the lies and the overblown scare tactics. Maybe Reid's working for us....
