Good morning, all.
Join us today for the final victory lap, the vote to "confirm Samuel Alito, of New Jersey, to be an Associate Justice of the Supreme Court."
It's all over except the final vote tally.
Lots of surprises yesterday at the HUGE vote to impose cloture, so perhaps there are still some surprise votes to come?

It's a good day for those who love, respect and admire the Constitution.
And we know that Associate Justice Alito does. I like the ring of that. :)

Folks, do we have any idea what time the swearing in ceremony might occur? Anybody?

And if they are raped? Molested by a family member? IIRC, these instances account for less than 1% of all abortions that are currently performed in the US.

WOW .. can't believe that's actually published and public.
They were just throwing things at the wall, hoping to be grateful if anything stuck.
There's now no doubt that a SOTU or any judicial nominee has to be SO pristine clean ..
I mean not 1 skeleton in their closet .. even from their teens that could be fodder that points to a "flaw."
The bar has definitely been raised by this latest debacle, but thank God the pubbies have
a deeper and more decent bench (upbringing?).

You know, with all the threats to our nation and society, worrying about too many Catholics on the SCOTUS just hasn't presented itself as a high priority for my concern.
I think I'll keep it that way.

I see I missed your great Limerick, too.
