Good morning, all.

Join us today for the final victory lap, the vote to "confirm Samuel Alito, of New Jersey, to be an Associate Justice of the Supreme Court."

It's all over except the final vote tally.

Lots of surprises yesterday at the HUGE vote to impose cloture, so perhaps there are still some surprise votes to come?

Maybe the Republicans have finally learned how to be the majority party? And, yesterday would show the Democrats they are in the minority - whether they like it or not. I think we are also seeing the MSM realize they need some sort of viagra in order to regain their earlier potency.

Excellent start Ken, thanks for the thread(s). And thanks for the AM chuckles as to your "awards", heh! Spot on.

I would love to send a letter to Justice Alito after today, congratulating him on his confirmation. I wonder if there is an address where that could be done? Not just the generic address for the SCOTUS building, hopefully.

How were we all so wrong in guesstimating the vote

Waht's with this "we" stuff pale face? LOL

3 seconds after the vote I knew it all along he'd be voted in. Got to love that hindsight.

Here is a 1/30/06 glimpse at one of the evening threads of the DUmmies:

Slavery will make a comeback, and being Gay will result in a long prison term. And lots of women will bleed to death.

An "abstention" is the same as a vote for the filibuster.

Teriffic and timely post - loved the "Sammy" awards! BTW did you see this? Man, those Dems sure have their knickers in a twist. (Hat tip to the Corner at National Review...)http://www.blogactive.com/2006/01/mister-senator.html This post will be read by thousands and thousands of people... It's directed at ONE person. Mr. Senator: Tomorrow you will be faced with a vote that may have the longest aftereffects of any other you have cast in your Senate career. Tomorrow you will decide if your political position is worth more than doing what is right for others like you. For others like you, Mr. Senator, who engage in oral sex with other men. (Although, Mr. Senator, most of us don't do in the bathrooms of Union Station!) Your fake marriage, by the way, will NOT protect you from the truth being told on this blog. How does this blog decide who to report on? It's simple. We report on hypocrites. In this case, hypocrites who vote against the gay and lesbian community while engaging in gay sex themselves*. When you cast that vote, Mr. Senator, represent your own...it's the least you could do. Michael Rogers blogACTIVE.com *While votes on many matters are considered, votes "FOR" either the Alito nomination and the Federal Marriage Amendment are enough to qualify legislators for reporting on this site.

What size robe does the Judge wear?

He better hurry and get one. He has to be well dressed tonight at the State of The Union speech.

Whick will drive the DU and Kos nuts thinking if they could just have gotten those numbers on the cloture vote.....

I hope they go through the motions and throw the towel in on the Democrats, further eroding the Democrat base.
