The two scariest words in the English language? Intelligent Design! That phrase tends to produce a nasty rash and night sweats among our elitist class.
Should some impressionable teenager ever hear those words from a public school teacher, we are led to believe, that student may embrace a secular heresy: that some intelligent force or energy, maybe even a god, rather than Darwinian blind chance, has been responsible for the gazillions of magnificently designed life forms that populate our privileged planet.

YOU need to answer why the apes which live today somehow managed to escape the evolutionary process which gradually turned their ancestors into humans
Honestly, anyone with a very, very elementary understanding of evolution will not ask this question. Heck, even the idiots over at the leading creationist website, Answers in Genesis think you're a tad behind the
creationist times. Oof, that's embarrassing!
If we evolved from apes, why are there still apes today? In response to this statement, some evolutionists point out that they dont believe that we descended from apes, but that apes and humans share a common ancestor. However, the evolutionary paleontologist G.G. Simpson had no time for this pussyfooting, as he called it. He said, In fact, that earlier ancestor would certainly be called an ape or monkey in popular speech by anyone who saw it. Since the terms ape and monkey are defined by popular usage, mans ancestors were apes or monkeys (or successively both). It is pusillanimous [mean-spirited] if not dishonest for an informed investigator to say otherwise.
However, the main point against this statement is that many evolutionists believe that a small group of creatures split off from the main group and became reproductively isolated from the main large population, and that most change happened in the small group which can lead to allopatric speciation (a geographically isolated population forming a new species). So there's nothing in evolutionary theory that requires the main group to become extinct.
Its important to note that allopatric speciation is not the sole property of evolutionistscreationists believe that most human variation occurred after small groups became isolated (but not speciated) at Babel, while Adam and Eve probably had mid-brown skin color. The quoted erroneous statement is analogous to saying If all people groups came from Adam and Eve, then why are mid-brown people still alive today?
Their 2nd paragraph actually ain't half bad. I figure that if creationists teach you a little something about evolution, maybe you'll learn a little.
(From
here.
Your 2nd question involved something about why there is no written history of man fighting off "post-monkey/pre-man men." It's not even worth answering - You apparently dont' accept that the earth predates man's ability to write things down, so why bother discussing further?

Spam is useless crap. Find one piece of useless crap in Ichneumon's post(s) and I'll actually eat Spam.

Talking about Einstein, here's an awesome picture that I discovered was being auctioned off.

It would be better if you were not so inclined to respond with hyperbolic invective. The case for intelligent design is reasonable. So is the case for evolution. So is the case for various combinations of the above. Insofar as all of them attempt to present the bigger picture of what objective reality is about, none of them qualify as empirical science, but as shaping principles, which are also a necessary part of science.

Whoops. I meant to post the Einstein post above to you.

Texas is not on the East Coast, genius; nor are the midwestern German-American descended from these supposed Texan Germans.
To: Fester Chugabrew
I commend you from softening your stance. I don't know many YEC's (from your profile) that say the case for evolution is reasonable.
Perhaps in a year's time, you'll be the guy we point to saying, "See, the endless fight has been worthwhile."

Sorry I'm late. Are the Saganists and Communist Evolutionaries having a cow yet? (Or should I say a monkey?)
You say you want an evolution,
Well, you know, we all want to change the world...

My brother in law is half German, and lives on the east coast, so what does that do to your own logic? And he's a whole population by himself? I'm sorry; one lonely semi-kraut does not constitute a transitional form.
But I think you're mistaken about my logic, geographically relocating humans has nothing to do with 'evolving', it's just relocating
The Wittstrucks, etc. around here are not relocated Germans, they're Americans descended from Germans. So if they're descended from Germans, why are there still Germans?

It would be better if you were not so inclined to respond with hyperbolic invective. The case for intelligent design is reasonable...
But it is not science. And that's the point. It isn't science. Religion isn't science. Neither is philosophy or art or drama or commerce or politics or damn near a gazillion other things in the world. Because science is a defined pursuit, one that simply does not include investigation into the paranormal or supernatural.
And because, after many hours (both today and on previous days) you still seem unwilling to recognize that science is limited, by definition, to the natural world, and is not some grand quest for knowledge of everything that objectively "is", be they supernatural or not, I am exhausted. I cannot try to convince you any more. I don't have the patience for it. Thus, my hyperbole. We will have to simply disagree.
If you read it as invective, then I apologize for that. I meant it to sting, but not to draw blood.

No, spam is dumping huge amounts of information, over and over. One of the "creationists" a couple of years ago was banned because of exactly the kind of thing Ichneumon is doing.
But I don't agree with banning for such. I have the ability to pretty much ignore it.
Pretty much...

However, a wider view would propose that (1) science is not the only explanation for everything known and unknown the universe, and (2) science is not necessarily the highest human pursuit - art, literature, philosophy are higher, in my opinion.

However, a wider view ...Oh, yours is a wider view is it? Not just a different view but a wider one? Well, I think your wider view is wrong. Science is the only discipline I am aware of that produces reliable and useful knowledge about the universe. Further, mayybe art, literature (you don't consider that art?) and philosophy are "higher," but science and technology over the last few centuries have added vastly more value to more people's lives than any of them or all of them put together.

It translates to: "ID isn't science".
Definition of the original word Science = the state or fact of knowing knowledge. Websters, Second College edition, New World Dictionary, 1968.
So the fact is that ID is a science. Because one does not wish to study or accept it does not make it invalid. ID is the other way (true) to interpret the visible information of the physical world.
