Good Monday morning, fellow Freeper political junkies. One of the more ridiculous episodes of political theater is about to play itself out on the Senate floor, as the John Kerry-led democrats mount an exercise in political futility which will further expose their total irrelevance..So join us today, or drop in on occasion, for the festivities...
That's good news - she must realize that a sizable percentage of her former constituency has moved out of state. If she votes for cloture, maybe I'll send her a box of chocolates.
Menendez: Just another pro abortion phony who sits in the front pew of the church so everybody can see him.
Thanks..
I think that Chafee is a member of the gang of fourteen, if the Democrats refuse to vote for cloture, Chaffee would be expected to support the nuclear option.
"Yesterday, the other Kennedy, Senator Ted Kennedy, said of Judge Alito, In decision after decision on the bench, he has excused abusive actions by the authorities that intrude on the personal privacy and freedoms of average Americans. Funny how the Senators mind changes.
When Judge Alito was confirmed to the appellate bench a few years back Senator Kennedy said at the time, "You [Alito] have obviously had a very distinguished record, and I certainly commend you for long service in the public interest. I think it is a very commendable career and I am sure you will have a successful one as a judge."
If you have an easier time than Senator Kennedy making up your mind that Judge Alito deserves to be confirmed, join the fight. Visit www.JudgeAlito.com today and let the Senate know you support Judge Alito."

From that site: Democratic Senators Ben Nelson, Tim Johnson and Robert Byrd have come out in support of Judge Samuel Alito. Click here to read reactions to Senators' announcements. Also: Disappointment with Sen. Chafee's "No" Vote
"The cloture vote is scheduled, as my colleagues know, for 4:30 in the afternoon on Monday. If cloture is invoked--which I believe it will be--we will have a final up-or-down vote on confirmation on Tuesday at 11 o'clock in the morning."
Sorry, I've read so much in the last week, I just don't recall. Is there a required waiting period after the cloture vote for the confirmation vote? If not, why don't they just have the confirmation vote tonight (outside of the fact the good Senators don't want to work over the cocktail and/or dinner hour)?
I don't have access to the tv right now, but my guess is that NJ Network channel 23 in our area) will cover it.
Do you have a link for Rush??
The 77 WABC-AM site isn't working
yeah , I have Rush on the radio
:-) You're welcome
It's working for me.
Good post.
Moonbat Sheehan and her merry men. She spits on her son's grave. She really belongs in California. Unfortunately, she is the "mainstream" of the Democratic party.
But the R's may not need the Useless One of RI. Why defend the R seat when he fails to deliver?
Great find, Starwise! I'm laughing so hard I can barely type right now, but I really do hope that one of our Senators remembers that. LOL
WOW ... I haven't seen that guy in ages .. you're scaring me .. LOL!!
