Bob Woodward and photographer injured in IED attack.
Kid, I'll have you know that as you took your first breath I was protecting the bars of Munich from the Ruskies. Ain't no dadburned woman and ya don't want to see me nekked.
Well I don't doubt Woodruff's ego was part of this decision. I just wonder, had he completed the assignment, what kind of report he would have given. Would he have had an epiphany, or would it have been the same, run of the mill, Bush hit piece?
Neither you, I, nor your friend are relevant. I wouldn't count Truman Capote either.
That right there is FUNNY!
I heard that both Woodruff and the camera man were out of surgery and stable. Thats good. I pray they both fully recover. I'd like to hear their story first hand when they are able.
Has someone provided actual proof of this or is this simply supposition on our part?
???? Does it really matter where an ABC reporter is, their M.O. is the same liberal propaganda which includes attack the president daily. Why would the State of the Union or one of their own being in Iraq change their sales pitch?
As somebody who has not watch the MSM for years, when I have run across them recently at others houses or public places it is astounding to me the virulent and hatefulness of their liberal propaganda and that anybody actually trust any news from them. It is glaring and obscene to somebody who does not daily immerse themselves in it.
You should still be protecting us from the Communists.
Their called the MSM also teachers union that taught me how to write. (? didnt teach me how to write)
Was that the Chinese lady with Remington Bond or that XMan Lady with him?
Yea, that was a coupole of stacked anti-tank mines if I remember correctly.
Taji was the place a Bradley got hit with the same type of IED. The next day wew were told to start escorting fuel trucks from the refinery near Taji to the south. We saw the crater from that IED and our jaws just hit the floor.
Who said anything about Communists? These were the Ruskies. Fritz and Gertude Ruskie. They lived directly across the strasse from the Hofbrauhaus, and we had to protect the place from them when we weren't in Grafenwohr. You see, Fritz and Gertude hated Ooompa Bands.
The cameraman, Doug Vogt, is Canadian so the CBC web has a more detailed article on this incident. Looks like Vogt is going to be ok, and probably Woodruff also.

A U.S. network news anchor and his Canadian cameraman who were injured in Iraq on Sunday are out of surgery, CBC News says.
Anchor Bob Woodruff and cameraman Doug Vogt were wounded by an "improvised explosive device" while travelling in an Iraqi convoy, ABC News announced.
Vogt's wife is elated because she's been told he's fine, CBC cameraman Brian Kelly told CBC News from London.
"Doug is talking and his old self," he said after talking to Vogt's wife."It seems Doug has rolled the dice again and been very lucky."
"I've been in shock and tears most of the afternoon," Kelly said. "You always feel it's going to happen to someone else."
Woodruff is out of surgery and stable, he said.
Both were wearing body armour and helmets, but were reported to be in serious condition before the surgery in a U.S. military hospital.
"Both men suffered head injuries. Woodruff sustained shrapnel wounds and Vogt was hit by shrapnel in the head and suffered a broken shoulder," ABC said.
The two journalists were travelling with the 4th Infantry Division but were with Iraqi security forces when the device exploded in Taji, just north of Baghdad.
There were four journalists in the vehicle, but two got out to check an equipment problem, leaving Woodruff and Vogt inside. "That's when the explosion happened," Kelly said.
The attack is another example of the random violence in Iraq, he said. "It just comes out of the blue."
The men are expected to be flown to Germany on Sunday to the American hospital at Landstuhl, where three wounded Canadian soldiers were taken after a suicide bombing in Afghanistan on Jan 15.
Vogt, 46, has won Emmy Awards and has covered many armed conflicts.
Woodruff , 44, is the anchor of ABC's World News Tonight. He has reported from many places in Iraq.
Woodruff has four children, and Vogt three.
Vogt, based in France, worked for the CBC and other broadcasters before taking a contract with ABC.
As a freelancer, he had to take the work available, and Iraq is where the news is, Kelly said.
There is talk now that it was gunfire that got the reporters.
We will have to wait until definitive news is available but the best we can do is pray for these men and their families.
My favorite all time, truly "embedded" reporter--- Peter Jennings' ex-girlfriend, Hanan Ashrawi.
Oh, and I almost forgot...PLO "operative".
Of course, she had no influence on how ABC reported the news...
He said Woodruff being in Iraq is a marketing ploy by itself.
You know...like "Where in the world is Matt Laurer", or the TODAY show broadcasting from the site of the Olympics.
indeed.
Nobody is suggesting otherwise. Basic standards of human decency and decorum are being suggested; even requested. Perspective and perception are appreciated. Derision, denigration, and blind hatred are most unwelcome.
I would not be surprised if ABC knows the condition of both men and is continuing to exploit this for as long as possible before acknowledging that both will survive.
While I am very sorry for this guy and his family, it does not cover up what he and his company does and has done against this country and President daily.
Yes, I can feel sorry for him and his family, hope he gets well but I can judge him and his past actions and find them disgusting all at the same time.
We have a serious problem with our MSM that does not go away even if one gets hurt.
