You've watched entirely too many cheesy conspiracy movies, my friend.
It is unfortunate this happened. OTOH, all the embedded reporters knew the risk ahead of time. The embedded reporter idea has its good points, but also its drawbacks, as we see here today.
Actually, I've seen too many MSM shenanigans.....AND too many cheesy movies.

I think you read his posts real slow because that is how you process the information.
It shouldn't stun you. A focused and determined media, in a media age, can change the outcome of a war.
That's exactly what they did in Vietman. That's exactly what they're trying to do here.
What you're seeing today is not so much about partisanship or occuption as it is about the media's rabid, and near universal, determination to obstruct this country's ability to defend itself. Many people hate them for it. Some of us just resent the hell out of them for it.
What stuns me is the number of people who don't see it at all.

Because, being embedded means that we (OIF forces) are responsible for their safety. We even treat the third country nationals that get hit by IED's when they are driving for KBR.
Think about it the same way you think about the relief efforts in Pakistan. Our troops are still there delivering relief supplies by the Chinook-load. All in the hopes that the future generations will think differently than the current generations.
I've had my soldiers, contractors, TCN's and others that we were responsible for, get hit by IED's. When that happens everyone does their most to deliver the best medical care possible. It will never be any other way.
