Wolf first made a name for herself with "The Beauty Myth," a 1991 feminist critique of feminine stereotypes. Admired by some and ridiculed by others, Wolf has since written on everything from motherhood to promiscuity. During the 2000 election campaign, she famously advised Al Gore to work on being an "alpha male," and her most recent book, a folksy memoir about her father, left many erstwhile fans clearing their throats in embarrassment.
Maybe that's what pushed Wolf toward Jesus. In an interview published last weekend in Scotland's Glasgow Sunday Herald, Wolf announced that she had been struggling with a midlife crisis a few years ago when she went into "a light meditative state." That's when it happened: "I was completely dumbfounded but I actually had this vision of of Jesus."
If that doesn't sound like the Naomi Wolf you love (or hate), Wolf agrees. "I wasn't myself in this visual experience. I was a 13-year-old boy sitting next to him [Jesus] and feeling feelings I'd never felt in my lifetime
. It was probably the most profound experience of my life."

Who's more of a Alpha male? Jesus or Al Gore?
Don't forget Anne Rice!
I think Darkwolf377 has it right. She says she went into "a light meditative state." and found the "hip" Jesus.
Honey is your tongue planted in your cheek?
>She is Jewish.
I wasn't sure whether she was a Christian or not prior to the conversion. Good thing she converted to Christianity. Let's hope it's a true conversion and others will follow.
Hey, if Ms. Wolf really is a Christian (which I don't know), then she will dwell with the Lamb--the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world.
That's right! How could I forget her. I go to a used Bookmart and they wouldn't carry her books. I never read them but knew what they were about.
Strange how it's happening, huh?
Don't forget Anne Rice's return to Catholicism. This keeps up the Apocalypse will be at the door.
well, that's really good news.
I agree. But that little boy thing is, um, strange at best. I've heard a lot of testimonies but none ever matched this story!
Someone else mentioned Ann Rice too!!
Grain/Salt
Taken with a pound of salt!
The entire article is so snide about Christianity as to make you ill. Oops, it's the LA Times. I wish I read that earlier. I would have saved myself from a heartburn.
I will wait to see her fruit. In the past she has always acted like one....
LoL Still is....sitting next to Jesus as a boy? For some reason I don't see this as a revelation.
I always thought that she was a bit of lost soul. If she's truly found Christ, good for her! If not, well, she'll have to sort that out for herself. Lots of people ride the road to Damascus, and we should accept them with open arms.
I have the feeling that when asked to clarify she will say this is the Jesus that is Pro-Abortion, Pro-Gay Marriage and would have voted for Gore. You know, THAT Jesus...the one they wrote Jesus Christ Superstar about. ;)
While I hope for the best, and wish her well in her new found faith, I can't help cynically thinking, "Just another phase." I pray I'm wrong.
