Like the new requirement at ford If you don"t own a ford you can not park your car in the factory parking lot or across the street and you can not work for ford. How stuck on stupid with super glue can you get. Bet this will pull ford out of the red and into the black on it money problems. Not going to happen.

Is it pronounced "EYE-vans" or "IVV-ens", or some other way I haven't thought of?

It is pronounced EYE-vins.
A few years ago...there was a booksellers convention..and it was shown on C-span..
Bill O'Reilly was there...as was Molly and Stuart Smalley...and they both pretty much ganged up on O'Reilly...
I never thought watching a bookseller convention on TV would be entertaining...but that one was..
She wrote a book about President Bush...and I think SHE was the one that originated the nickname "shrub" for him.

Let's not get overconfident. Cloture fails when 60 Senators vote for it, not until. We need some Democrat votes to get to 60 and although some Democrats have said they oppose a filibuster, who knows what can happen over the weekend. I actually agree, and was wondering why Alito already had a photo-op the other day with Senate's leadership (Specter, McConnel, etc).

How about the old days in the 19th and early 20th century when there was NO cloture? (Imagine a world without cloture.) Virtually the only way debate could be cut off was by unaninmous consent.
