WASHINGTON (CNN) -- Sen. John Kerry has decided to support a filibuster to block the nomination of Judge Samuel Alito to the Supreme Court, CNN's Congressional Correspondent Ed Henry reported Thursday. Kerry, in Davos, Switzerland, to attend the World Economic Forum, was marshaling support in phone calls during the day, Henry said.

I saw in the Boston Herald today that Ted Kennedy is joining him in calling for a filibuster.

I see the Kennedy has joined in ---- but in your state there is a no-brainer (no offense to you in the state that do have brains). Kerry & Kennedy would continue to be re-elected even if they murdered someone.

With this move Kerry reminds me of a scene from "Anchorman" when the moron weather man played by Steve Correll has nothing intellegent to add to the discussion so he just shouts, "loud noises", "loud noises".
So when are they going to vote?? I'm sick of this waiting. Hold the cloture vote, shut Kerry down, and let's get Alito on the Court. Someone call O'Connor and tell her to clean out her desk.
I hear there are already 4 Dems on record to support Alito. What if enough Dems come out in support that there is no chance for a filibuster....wouldn't that make Kerry look awfully silly?

The Senate does this. They talk everything to death. Then they can say, well, come what may, we had plenty of "debate". But for your information, Frist already announced that vote on cloture will be Monday at 4:30 pm ET, and vote on the nomination will be Tuesday at 11:00 am ET. Fun, as that is the very day President Bush delivers the State of the Union Speech.
Are you speaking about that midnight appearance in WV on the last evening of the GOP Convention? I could not believe that moron was allowed to go out there and make such a fool of himself, which is exactly what he did. I think even the MSM was taken aback by the total lack of good judgment on the part of Kerry's campaign to set up that last-minute appearance to steal some thunder from a terrific GOP convention, which they did not.
What a fool Kerry was/is! As for that night, he was either high on medication or had been drinking because there was absolutely nothing normal about that appearance...and such pandering to the good people of WV...I'm only sorry so many of them showed up in the first place.
He called our troops baby killers back in the '60's.
