Simple. He knows he can't win, he knows a filibuster will not happen. Once it's obvious there are 60+ votes for cloture, he'll back down "reluctantly," grumbling the entire way and throwing red meat to the hard-left Rats. He gets out in front of Hillary!(tm) to woo the moonbat wing of the Rats without actually having to *do* anything.

Tell the gigolo..this tactic is seared in the memory of
every clearthinking and rational voter. Bye, Bye,
dingbat...you are, have been, and continue to be..
TOAST.
jAKE
You have to roll it and light it!
Kerry the traitor reporting for dookie.
What a POS...
She's awakened to the futility of it all then... Amazing!
I thought it was:
"Kerry, your name is flip flop!"
LOL! We found all the old "good" pictures of him, dind't we?
LMAO. The DUmmies just linked this thread. They think we're pulling our hair out over Kerry's threat to fillibuster... Oh no, please don't throw me that briar patch. LOL.
Sad thing is, they don't realize Kerry is just playing the Moonbat base. He only came out FOR a filibuster after the party leadership assured him there wouldn't be one. This way, he gets to suck up Moonbat donations in 08 without risking anything politically. Or so he thinks. Thats the funniest part. Well, the fact that Kerry actually YODELED on the phone from Switzerland was pretty funny too. What a "leader".
Hey DUmmie lurkers, aren't you supposed to be in a concentration camp or something?
I'm watching the Senate right now on c-span2 and so far they have 55 Senators pledged to vote yes on Alito, so if they get enough votes for cloture he will be confirmed easily.
Senators Chafee, Collins, and Snowe are the only Republicans who haven't pledged their vote. Nelson of Nebraska and Johnson of South Dakota are the only two Democrats who have pledged to vote yes.
Teresa honey I promise we'll get into the White House this time. If I try to stop Alito then it will appeal to the abortionists, the gay activists, our friends in Hollywood, and everyone who hates America abroad. I'm tellin you Teresa it will work!
Is there anything more impotent then John Kerry calling for a filibuster while out of the country?
OMG, Alioto is doomed! As we all know by now, when Kerry speaks, as with E.F. Hutton, EVERYBODY listens.
Chaffee, Snowe and Stevens. Collins is in the "AYE" column, and Stevens will be too - I wouldn't count him as holding out for any matter of principle or wavering of position.
Nelson of Nebraska and Johnson of South Dakota are the only two Democrats who have pledged to vote yes.
Nelson of Nebraska, Johnson, and Byrd are the three current crossovers. I expect there will be two others so thatteh number of AYE votes reaches 60. That would "stiff" the filibuster option, and provides the simplest cover for the DEM party.
That photo is an icon - a complete metaphor for everything rotten, venal, and decadent about liberals.
Since he didn't show up for work again today, what else can he do?
That waste of skin.
McCain? ;-)
HAHAHAHAHAHA! Good one! McVain/McLame is more one of "them" than he is one of "us" !
''Sam Alito ''the soul of honor''.............vs ''DEMONRATS'' the scurge of slime!
