Funding for the project, more than $369,000, was made possibly by a school safety grant through the National Institute of Justice, a research branch of the U.S. Department of Justice. "The idea is to improve school safety for the children," said Phil Meara, superintendent, Freehold Borough School District, on Monday. "We had a swipe-card system that operated the doors, but the technology was obsolete." ...

My real question is just how this 'project' was proposed and approved? You would think the parents would be a bit curious to know why this level of security is needed in their schools????
Parents had no say. I'm still digging on all of this. What I have clear to date is the link I made yesterday on Healthy People 2010.
After I put that up, someone sent to me this morning a ton of docs I'm still going through.
But, damn, I think my state belongs to the UN now. I'm not kidding or being expressive. Our 'former gov' before stepping down, signed on to all the terms and conditions of all these grants. I will add on to that thread as I know more.
Really strange how this crap just flies under the radar.
This seems like a really huge breach in security for US citizens???? What if you refused to participate? Would your kids be unable to attend the school? Has anyone tried to opt out?
Just thinking out loud.... I know you are on it... Can't believe there has been no dissent!
>>>This seems like a really huge breach in security for US citizens????
All our data being kept in a Global Database....I would say that is more than a breach.
>>>>What if you refused to participate? Would your kids be unable to attend the school? Has anyone tried to opt out?
This is new. Not everyone knows or realizes. The few that are learning aren't being told the full story. If you are at the school, there is no opting out. It is mandatory, public or private.
>>>Just thinking out loud.... I know you are on it... Can't believe there has been no dissent!
It is bigger than the Iris scanning. I'm still going through material....I'm uploading now and will get everything organized once I'm more clear on what we have.

The program works by matching your
iris pattern to the recorded pattern
you voluntarily (or if arrested and
printed, involuntarily) submitted
when you signed up for the program
with the school.
Watch...ACLU will be lobbying for
a Congressional stand to ABOLISH
the iris records once the "child
leaves the school system." 'Course,
that won't happen. The child's
iris pattern as well as those of the
4 "guardians" will be retained
somewhere in the NSA files, probably
even 10 years after a legal death
certificate has been verified!
About once a week I go to the school to
sign out my GreatKid before the school
day ends. That signing is a legal document,
and is intended to clear the school if
there is a mix-up and the kid leaves
under any other conditions or with someone
else. It's all to protect the School Board
from law suits. You'd be surprised how many
Boards are in danger of big money payouts
when the WRONG divorced parent shows up to
"pick up a kid." Naturally, the kid is
going to recognize his estranged parent;
maybe even happy to "go home" with him/her.
Then there are the parents who don't speak
understandable English; Big time SNAFUS.
The only really safe situation is for the
school to be notified of an early pickup
via a note the day before. Telephone calls
re early pickups are now considered quite
dangerous. How does the secy in the office
know WHO is on that phone?
I'm not opposed to the iris ID method.
But let's be honest about the real
reason for it and being backed by the
govt...to get us all on file!
See ur problem...but try to look
down the pike in the road.
All transportation systems leaving
an area will have an Iris ID machine.
Prior to receiving ur boarding pass,
you will be scanned. Just imagine
the advantage having these set up
at the borders across NMex, Az, Ca,
Tx! When those migrant workers with
their "work permits" cross over daily,
there will be proof that Jose is really
Jose and not his cousin Jimenez. Then,
at any border/International airport,
passengers will no longer be suspect
because they have a "similar/identical
name" to someone on a list. Remember
that 5 year old boy who was banned from
boarding the plane because his name was
on the list?
It's actually a great idea.
I'll lay odds there's not one prisoner
released from Guantanimo whose iris
pattern is not already on file.
Again...watch the ACLU claiming it's
an invasion of privacy!
Where did that come from?
Supposedly, the program is voluntary at
the one school. Not sure about the school
that has had it in place for two years
already.
It's not totally in effect...yet.
But there ARE Iris scanners at
some of the bigger airports.
I read about them being installed
at least 6 months ago. True, not
every passenger is directed toward
them. But think about down the line.
I see this as all preparatory.
George Orwell was only off about
30 years in his novel of the future.
They're not even partially in effect. Do you have a credible source for the claim? What's the stated use for them?
Why can't they just ask for a valid gov't-issued picture ID like the rest of the world?
Sure...I read it months ago.

I have to ask...just where have you been
hiding out for the past year or so that
you missed all these IS reports?
They always have been.
The day of the Driver's License/credit card/
passport ID is fast fading. Anyone (meaning
any terrorist worth his salt) can get a photo
ID on any document he wants. It's a thriving
business that's been a real thorn in every
government's side for years.
>>>>and I'm still wondering how and why the fingerprinting of children, which so many: schools, sheriff's dept., politicians and children's groups do, actually help the safety of children? I don't understand how that prevents crime or save children?
Yeah, I think I owe you an apology on that. I was supportive of the fingerprinting and stepped right up to do it.
Now I'm wondering if my data went to an FBI file, or was collected by the FBI for this global database.
