Today in the John Gibson show, Lt. Col Thomas McAnenery gave a chilling account of a possible attack on Iran by a Coalition of Arab countries (Iraq, Jordan, Saudi Arabia from the West, United Arab Emirates and Kuwait from the South-along with an attack from Diego Garcia- Afghanistan from the East and Turkey from the North) with U.S. support and help from the EU-3 (France, Germany and Britain). It is conceivable that in 2 to 3 days the attack would be completed demolishing at least 12 known sites of nuclear reactors in Iran. He also said that it would be much more difficult for Israel to do it alone, although not impossible. Furthermore, he said that we should be working (and probably are) on cementing the Arab-US-EU alliance against Iran. It seems almost inevitable that a military option will be needed because the Iranian regime has backed itself into a corner with their obstinate behavior.
I will be very very surprised if Saudi, Jordan or Iraq take any part in this.
So let's get on with it.
In that scenario all that we'll need from Isreal will be their intelligence and targeting coordinates.
..why not?
Diplomacy is the art of saying "nice doggy" until you can find a rock.

Wouldn't this scenario be cool? Demorats would be upset because South Africa wasn't invited to participate.
Now that's what I call a coalition. At some point, we might even get the Democratic Party of the United States to join in. Or not. Anyway, who needs them?
If true it would restore my faith in mankind and confidence that it may survive....

I agree; I'll be very surprised if any country other than the US and some of the major EU powers (Prob. UK, Germany, France and Italy) join in the attack on Iran. I suspect that Jordan, Saudi, Turkey and the other Sunni neighbors of Iran will be secretly delighted but they do not want to risk the obloquy of the Arab street.
Need someone to push the "go" button? Call me.....
When the time comes we'll have to do it ourselves.
I heard him say this last week also, I just can't buy it. I might could see Kuwait, or Saudia Arabia allow their airspace to be used and even basing rights, but I can't see them take part in the attack.
Me too, but politics is the mother of strange bedfellows...
Iraqi army has more on its plate than it could deal with right now. Turkish army would have to operate in and through Kurdish areas. Saudi Arabia military is the most lethal on the whole list - the Iranians will be dying from laughter en masse at the first sight of it.
I can't say I blame them either.
Iran has more people than just about the rest of the ME combined.
they will probably allow logistical support if nothing else, but I would take that in a heartbeat.
well I think that if we want the job done right, do it with the best, which means, of course, the US and the UK primarily....
We'd better be careful, Chavez might place the might of the Venezuelan military on the side of Iran...... (uncontrolled laughter follows).
Actually, we do have to be concerned about what Iran + Venezuela together might do to world oil markets, but I suspect any embargo, etc. would be relatively brief because both those governments would soon become eager for the $$$ they would be losing. Still, they could probably disrupt the markets seriously for a short period, and if Iran were to attack tankers or try to cut off the Straights of Hormuz it could get even uglier.
I'm not saying we don't need to pound the Mullahs and their nuke facilities into dust, we surely do, I'm just wondering what all the consequences might be....
I love that quote. It says it perfectly.
