If JimRob, etc. approve this is the Live Thread for the Canadian General Election, on January 23rd, 2005.
We have a while to go before the returns start coming in, but I thought the thread needed to get up and running.
Make that three. Nothing personal.

Sorry about getting carried away during a side discussion on the thread.
Look, folks. You're talkin' like the Dems that promised to move to France if W beat Kerry. We are conservatives. Don't make a promise you don't intend to keep.
Still watching and cheering from the sidelines! Looks like the results from the Atlantic Provinces aren't as good as we might've hoped, but still optimistic here! I say the Tories win 130 seats and Stephen Harper WILL be the next Prime Minister! : )
My fisrt post here at FR... been an avid FD reader for a while.
I am another Albertan, so I am patiently waiting.
Anyway, It looks like I may very well give up on Canada. I sure hope you guys down south will be welcoming to a new, young, mechanical engineer when I graduate in 4 years. I like Texas a lot too :)
Anyway, hopefully Ontario does not do what I think it is going to do (bow down to their Librano overlords...)
Yeah, muslim thing is a different thread...

maybe other provinces to...not sure...
ATV is reporting (10:05EST):
Lib (19) Con (10) NDP (3)
BQ leading in 1 riding in differnt time zone
Please take it to another thread for a while.
This election is way to important for anything but the election chatter.
Texas will be glad to have you, but don't give up so easily. Canada isn't lost.
Ontario won't start reporting immediately. They need to count the votes. Probably will take a little while.
Where are you getting these results??
what do you take from that?
I think CSPAN starts at the half hour.
holy crap...
BQ 856
CPC 800
in this riding...
Something like 50 000 Canadians move to the US every year, because of lower taxes and better weather. I'm using my spring break to go on a tour of some regions I really like. Besides, I have family in Georgia.
Dude, you're posting results as they come in and extrapolating results on incomplete returns. They aren't calling these elections, so I'd suggest that you hang loose until you get some finals.
They finish at 9:30.
