Elections Canada ^ | N/A

Posted on 01/23/2006 8:03:44 AM PST by GreenLanternCorps

If JimRob, etc. approve this is the Live Thread for the Canadian General Election, on January 23rd, 2005.

We have a while to go before the returns start coming in, but I thought the thread needed to get up and running.

Looks like you are in for a long night. Hope it is not like our 2000 election. I should have invested stock into Malanta. I went through 3 bottles of the stuff before the election was decided.

I was just using 20 years ago as a point of reference (meaning, not in the age of the internet). This kind of thing might have worked in the 1930s, but global communication has expanded such to the point where a phone call here, a blog post there, and you have the numbers.

In 2000? It was clear we'd lost by 8:30.

The "white French" are also dying faster than they are being born. Almost all of Europe (and Russia) is like that. Plus you have lots of illegal immigration into France.

Of course, no one knows precisely how many Muslims are in France, because of their insane politically-correct policy.

Early returns are not good.

The Conservatives will probably win a plurality of seats, but the combined Liberal and Socialist(NDP)total will exceed them.

You might even see a defacto coalition between the Liberals and NDP to form a government.

This is going to be a long, and probably disappointing night for conservatives in Canada.

I know, my prediction is Brison holds the seat; I was just curious if it had come in yet.

If France's population is 60 million today, then it won't be much more than 80 million in 30 years, since the French just aren't reproducing very much anymore. And most of that growth will come from immigration, which will likely continue to come mostly from Algeria. I think there might be as many as 40 million Muslims in France in 2036, which would be 50% of the population but still far less than 50% of the electorate since so many Muslims would be below 18. Even if the immigration rate slows down a bit in the short-term (obviously Muslim immigrants in the next couple of years will have a far greater effect on France's population than Muslim immigrants 25 years from now), I think France will have a Muslim majority in around 50 years.

But the first Western European country to have a Muslim majority will be the Netherlands, where already a majority of children are born to Muslim parents.

All I can say is there are some real IDIOTS in this country. They don't have a CLUE of what they do. I like the one that described Atlantic Canada as the Crack Whore of the country. Goes for the one with the promised HANDOUT. Ontario worries me also. They are LIBERAL to the core.

Well, the government should put Radio Canada International in jail for streaming results live over the Internet - the site's so overloaded I can't even connect.

This perfornamce shouldn't be extrapolated to other regions. Maritimers tend to vote for incumbents, especially Liberal sweet-talkers.

Harper should shut off the taps once he becomes prime minister.
