Sorry for all the questions but is the Canadian election coverage like those in the UK? The candidates all on stage for their respective parties and the vote totals are read. I did enjoy watching the election coverage in the UK even if I was very disappointed with the Tories showing over there. One thing I don't understand is the true hatred some of the Canadians have for Bush and the US because we are such a similar people it seems to me. I guess the Libs in the US are the same way though.

I wonder if they are going to import the guy from the BBC with all the fancy election day computer graphics. I never had any idea what he was talking about but it sure was entertaining.

That's my instinct too, but I get the feeling "conservative" doesn't mean quite the same thing up there that it does down here. Heck, we've got so many "flavors" of conservative down here now that I now need a detailed report on every politician I'm asked to support.

Posting a Greeting from our FReeper FRiend GMMAC
All of your efforts and those of many others fighting the good fight for Faith, Family what is provably right just are sincerely appreciated and are now being rewarded!
Unfortunately, I'll be busy today initially with Elections Canada - which my local CPC Association sees as valuable - and, afterward at its Election Day HQ then on to John Capobianco's possibly Axel Kuhn's victory celebrations!
Please extend my greetings tonight to our FRiends and allies in the noble Conservative cause, and raise the flag then on my behalf!

Yep. The NDP has led provincial governments in various Canadian provinces but it has never led a national government. For Canadians inured to statism, its policies go further than most would like.

I completely trust Stephen Harper since I know him and I KNOW how he REALLY thinks. How much he can do may be another thing but we can be sure it will start going in the RIGHT direction!!

The important thing is driving the Liberals out of power. Everything else in purely secondary. They need to be held accountable. And if by some miracle they are re-elected, the future of the country is thrown into question. Its important to clean house and as long as the Liberals are not in charge, the question of whether the Conservatives have or don't have a majority is something that can be left for another day.

I just voted for the Conservative candidate in an Ontario swing riding.
To: CaptainCanada
What about the "red" conservatives?
^__^
To: Canadian Outrage
The NDP is left of any of those names. Those US politicians mentioned would likely be Liberals if they were running in Canada.
To: Heatseeker
Thanks for the info and that's why I stated it was from a long time ago. The last election I voted in, before moving to the U.S., was when Kim Campbell lost to Cretien and the PC's were blown out of the water. Thanks for the update.

If it is 156, it will be a slim majority. Better keep everyone happy or another Stronach might happen.
