Your post reminded me of this quote from a Laurel & Hardy film.
I can't source it, but here's my favorate:
"The best welfare program in the world is a job!"
"I don't believe in a government that protects us from ourselves."
...err, except for Nancy's unconstitutional drug war. Still, I wish he were still President. He made me feel proud to be an American again.
Amen to that. One of my fondest memories is the first and only time I ever saw him in person at a campaign rally in San Diego when he was still a candidate.
Ronald Reagan is still my hero.
Wow you saw him in person.....what an honor for you
My favorite Reagan quip:
When, as governor, he exited a business luncheon where he had given a speech to see a group of 70's era protestors were just outside the door. When Reagan saw one particularly ragged protestor carrying a sign that said, "Make Love Not War", Reagan turned to his aide and said, "Well, frankly, I don't think he is capable of either one!".
Long live the Gipper!
I remember it as "There you go again." He was great.
Yes we all miss him. He is the greatest president of my lifetime and one of the top five who ever served...
I had the privilege of passing by his casket in the Capitol.
The quote is:
"Liberals really aren't bad people. It's just that they know so much that simply isn't true"!!
RIP Gipper!! We miss you!!
I took a college ethics class a couple of years ago where the instructor stated emphatically that it is ALWAYS necessary to tell the truth on EVERY occasion.
I challenged her to tell me that it was a good idea to tell the truth when a husband is asked by his wife "Does this dress make my butt look fat", to truthfully respond "Sorry Dear, it ain't the dress."
I won that argument. 8^)
I do think it is always necessary to listen to all opinions, especially your spouse, before deciding for yourself what is the correct answer. Listening is different than immediate capitulation and compliance.
To return to the earlier argument, Laura Bush has a lot of good ideas, but having Dubya stay quiet in the face of criticism is a bad idea.

If you spend more than 60 seconds reading this thread, I bet you can't spend less then 15 minutes reading this thread.

for days...Thank you all.
MUHAHAHAHAHAH...man i have tears in my eyes with that one...HAHAHA priceless dude absolutely pricelesss
God, I miss him so much it hurts
I couldn't have said it better. When he died, it....words fail me.
Rats, my screen seems to have gone all blurry on me...
Character is what you do when the camera is OFF!
I don't wish to ruin the image of your post, but contrast that image with one of a certain NY Senator and those kids. The only way that would happen is with 500 cameras filming from every possible angle and the lights so bright those kids would feel the heat.
" We begin bombing in five minutes."
+1 to you.
That was my very first thought when I saw the thread title.
I can't believe WGN wouldn't have hung on to that.
Great post of RWR quotes ping! I'm fixin' to bookmark this in my FRLinks...Tis a goody!
And the difference between President Reagan and President Clinton was the difference between "lighting" and a "lighting bug".
