Here is a thumbs-down to the Smokefree D.C. do-gooders and the D.C. Council, which voted 11-1 in favor of a smoking ban that begins next year.
I am thinking of starting a Do-Gooder-free D.C. because of the scientifically proven study that shows freedom-hating do-gooders cause high blood pressure in others.
There is nothing like a smug, arrogant, condescending know-it-all to get the eyes rolling up in the back of your head. The city, unfortunately, is awash in this character type.
These self-important nitwits seem to think they know what is best for the masses and then pat themselves on the head after they have achieved their mission.
"It is a great day for everyone who works in or patronizes a bar or restaurant in the District of Columbia," said one of the co-founders of the nut-job group after 11 morally superior council members imposed legislation that mocks the celebrated individual liberties of a nation.
Sorry. It did not come across as a great day. It came across as just another amusing day in the bluest of blue precincts.
Really, I would prefer to have a Carbon Monoxide-Free D.C.
Or a Rat-Free D.C.
Or a Gang-Free D.C.
Or a Lead-Free D.C.
Or a Cholesterol-Free D.C.
Or a Body Odor-Free D.C.
Or an Ice Cream-Free D.C.
Or a Starbucks-Free D.C.
I can think of all kinds of practices and things that could be eliminated before I would be concerned with a smoky bar stuffed with drunks at midnight.
I would argue it is the right of the smoking town drunk to be a smoking town drunk, just as it is the right of servers to work in an establishment that caters to smoking town drunks.

Here in Washington state we recently passed an indoor smoking ban. One can only smoke indoors in private property, and furthermore, the ban specifies that one must be 25 feet away from the door of whatever establishment one is smoking outside of.
This despicable violation of business owner's freedom was the brainchild of Christine Gregoire (after stealing the gubernatorial race from Dino Rossi due to some sheisty King County ballot counting) and her fascist Democrat cronies.
Y'know what happened the day after the smoking ban when I went walking down the streets of downtown Seattle? The gutters and sidewalks were littered with tons of cigarrettes.
go figure
EXCUSE ME.................80% in DC were ALREADY smokefree prior to this idiocy.
Who are you to tell a private property owner who is clientele can be?
NO AUTOMOBILES IN D.C.! Now, that will stop the pollution...and the bar goers. Ain't nothin' like a good second hand exhaust in the morning.
Me too - Now if they could just get rid of those "Alcohol Drinkers" - They talk way too loud and they pee on the toilet seat and the floor in the bathroom.
A Channell #5 "free" DC would be great. The stuff has a very adverse effect on me. Needs to be banned ~ flushed down the drain ~ users heavily punished.
But hey, at least nobody is smoking in the evil bars.

You know what really gets to me?
The anti-smokers who are so eager to push these bans ~never~ put their money where their mouth is and provide the business that is lost by their silly laws.
Bars feel the worst of the hit. Their regulars (most who smoke) disappear and nary a non-smoker shows up to fill that spot at the bar.
Soon after, the bar closes its doors forever - jobs are lost, owners are heartbroken and yet the antis think ~this~ is a job well done?
Stuck on stupid.
Instead of opening a smoke-free bar (if they believe it is such a wonderful idea), they force other people to accomodate them - and then they don't even go!
Locally, we have two optional 1¢ sales taxes which must be approved by voters. They run for a specified time and then must be re-authorized. I have suggested to smokers that they all vote NO on these. They could tip the vote against them. It'll cost the county $20 Million per year per each 1¢ tax. It'll drive the do-gooders and County Commissioners nuts trying to figure out what happened. Smokers revenge!!!! And a great laugh to boot.
That's because the asses, oops, masses, keep voting for the self-important nitwits.
It's wrong to blame the nitwits when the asses keep voting them into office, IMHO.
I figured you were a dope addict. It took all of 30 seconds scanning your posts before finding the evidence of your Losertarian views on pot. Tobacco is legal you little dopehead. Get used to it.
