NASA scrubbed the launch of the New Horizons mission to Pluto today due to high winds at the launch pad. Winds were gusting to more than 33 knots which NASA determined to be a "no go." They will try again tommorrow at approximately the same time.

Better luck tommorrow.

Hope the weather outlook is better tomorrow; it's very windy in SC and we're expecting a storm tonight and tomorrow.
Maybe a Florida freeper can check in and tell us what the weather is supposed to be tomorrow.

If the launch is delayed until after Feb 2, the window to be able to use Jupiter's gravitational field to accelerate it by an additional 9,000 mph will be closed and it will take an additional 3 years to reach Pluto.

I don't think that you would want this probing Uranus.

(Whew, the tension was killing me.)

I'm on the Tampa side, but it is very windy here. Warm, but windy. Have to pick up branches in year type of windy. Guess the whole penninsula is like that right now.
