He's BAAAAACK! Yup, Prince Alberta, newly relocated to the liberal mecca of San Francisco ensconsed in his new multi-million $$ condo, working in the venture capital field (all bad things when he was running for the WH) will today crawl out from under his rock to deliver himself of a major address about the "evils of executive power"

Yikes, of course you are right. But the point remains, they are limited in their voting power since they exercise so much local control.

Would that they didn't get electoral college votes, too!

Why? Because, as it turns out, Bush simply declared he doesn't have to follow the law if he doesn't want to.

No, he simply declared that there are SOME areas where Congress DOES NOT have the right to dictate policy to the Co Equal EXECUTIVE branch. The President rightly pointed HIS authority. Simply amazing that after squealing about "Checks and balances" the same people want to reduce the Executive branch to the level of Congressional Clerk.

Well, I just got home and missed the entire thing. Was Gore in full make-up or was it more tasteful today?

It sounds like he was truly insane; was he this way always or did losing the election in 2000 send him over the edge?

After swearing he would veto the McCain anti-terrorism bill if Congress passed it, the president in the end signed with apparent indifference, a flat denouement to what he had staged as high drama. Why? Because, as it turns out, Bush simply declared he doesn't have to follow the law if he doesn't want to.

Don't know where that came from - not my post.

How could they NOT know what has been going on for years?

It was public testimony in the 1970's. See Jabara case and various others, as well as fairly detailed Senate testimony in that era.

Methinks they're also afraid of the Barrett Report release on Thursday morning.

I had not thought of that! Your absolutely right, he is trying to preempt the Barret Report. That report should be very, very, interesting.

Sometimes I wonder if he's not trying to rid the entire government of all the traitors and party hacks.

Gore was totally over the top, it was very entertaining. The potential for the loons to take to the streets is higher than ever, egged on by their favorite candidate.

Barring actual bloodshed, politics could be extremely entertaining over the next couple of years!

My opinion is ...newsroom editors are worn out...trying to figure out what the heck this guy was saying...and how to show clips...without having to show the contradictory line a few minutes later...

To me...he sounded like he was grasping at anything, true or false that he could throw out as a reason to bash Bush...

The President attached a signing statement to McCain's Al Quida Bill of Rights. Signing statements are usually attached to "clarify" what the Executive find the intent of the bill to be.

McCain attached his terrorist rights bill to a defense bill and dared the President to deny funding to the troops. He threatened a 2/3rd's overturn of a VETO, and spineless "Republicans" gave him the backup he needed. Only nine voted against the McCain bill in the Senate.

The President did threaten a VETO because protecting the hides of terrorists in war is absurd, but understanding the Senate didn't have the guts to buck McCain he agreed to sign it. Unbeknowst to McCain, Lindsey and Dems he attached the signing statement implying he would follow the bill, except when it conflicted with his constitutional rights as the Executive and Commander in Chief.

This sets up a challenge to the Supreme Court if McCain/Linds/Dems can find a test case of the president authorizing what they believed they outlawed in this bill. Mccain/Linds/Dems are upset the president found a means around the attempted set up to limit our abilities to fight the WOT. Finding a test case, then taking it up through the Courts, will take a few years. By that time the President will be out of office or nearly gone, and may have changed the court fully in such a way they'll agree with the president's intent. It's a gamble on the president's part, and the RINO's/Dems are stating this is an example of the president "announcing himself King unbeholden to law".

:-) Remember, no controlling legal authority? Ergo, everything was legal?

Seriously, there's a lot that they kept away from him. He's difficult to work with in that he's opinionated (No! gasp!), he has to do everything himself and he has a tendency to belittle others

So no one wanted to go out of their way for this man. Imagine that, the Clintons likely treated staff better than he did. Or if not, there were at least perks to taking abuse from the twofer.

The metrosexuality of Gore's persona never fails to amuse me; but the danger he presents to the country and the riots he'd love to incite are a real danger, imo.

Some of the more radical hosts (other than Malloy and Rhodes) are on my local station, which is supposedly going off the air 2-1-06. It has been sold to Christian broadcast group, which I find rather ironic. SETTING SUN - Air America

It seems to me that every election cycle the Democrats have been fronting an ever more frightening array of psychos and phonies as presidential candidatesw. I mean, Bill Clinton (sociopath), Al Gore (psychotic, phony), amd the John Kerry (phony beyond belief).

Have fun with Gore and your other ACLU buddies Bob.

Wait until he finds out liberals don't donate to their own causes.

He'll be back quicker than Larry Klayman was.
