Ummm, conservative as I am...and despising Murtha & his unpatriotic anti-American puting-politics-above-America-and-her-troops liberal idiot fans, this comment was directed at Rep. Moran (the racist un-gentleman representing the Sergeant's district in Arlington, VA.) not Murtha. His comments only said he had not gotten a thank you or acknowlegement for his service from Congress.

Does Murtha send out thank you notes to servicemen? Probably not, but this exchange had nothing to do with Murtha.

I think you need to watch the WHOLE video. Your characterization is not representative of the soldier's comments.

Bull, it had to do with both Congressmen who were sitting together on the dais. The last comments were directed at Moran specifically, but since Murtha was sitting next to Moran and they both are on the same page, the slam hit both congressmen.

It had everything to do with Murtha. He's the one who made the disparaging comments in Congress about the troops' morale etc. Where have you been?

The only part of his comments concerning Moran were the ones about troops from his home state. That was an aside to his objections to Murtha's rant about the military being "broken".

Had Moran not even been there, he was still on target about Murtha.

"I don’t know who you two were talking to, but the moral of the troops is very high" said Sgt. Mark Seavey to Congressman Murtha and Congressman Moran.

No, it had EVERYTHING to do with Murtha, who has REPEATEDLY commented on the "morale of the troops" being low, and that was specifically what this ex-soldier/ex-Marine was addressing.

Yes, it did: he told both Moran and Murtha that they were wrong to claim that troop morale is low. But I agree Moran took a much bigger hit, and deservedly so. These fat old farts claim to be so concerned about the troops, and don't even send them a letter? I don't have a staff of hundreds, and yet manage to send off a dozen cards a week to Walter Reed and various church and "thank you" projects.

I disagree: he is directly challenging Murtha's assertions about the morale of troops. Put another way, MURTHA IS A BIG, FAT LIAR, and this soldier called him on it.
