This morning, the Senate Judiciary Cmte. convenes for a final session in the nomination hearings of Judge Samuel Alito. Outside witnesses who did not testify at yes- terday's hearings are given an opportunity to offer their opinions on the nominee. The Cmte. meets again to vote, either to approve or reject, on Tues., Jan. 17

When my husband came home for lunch, they re-played the Specter/Kennedy exchange. I told my husband that seeing that exchange was why I watched those hearings all day. I LIVE for moments like that.
Oh...leftists say that "opposition is growing!" Ick..now that icky guy from the People for the American Way.
Ha! "This will be a close vote." I see they are trying to claim victory already for making it close, even if they don't win.

We'll see the new add here in a minute, I guess they've been off working it. Or maybe the first guy mis-spoke.
This is why the democrats want a week delay, because they want to give the special-interest groups as much time as possible to try to sway public opinion to give democrats cover for a filibuster.
This really shows the bankruptcy of the democrat party. They will actually vote for or against a supreme court nominee based solely on what the polls look like for them.
Otherwise it would make no sense to run these ads now, since the ads are targetted at voters, NOT at the senators who will vote.
They want to pressure senators like Lincoln Chafee to vote against his own beliefs just to get re-elected.
