Day 3: Questioning Continues
This morning, Round 1 concludes with Senators on the Judiciary Cmte. who did not question nominee Alito yesterday. During Round 2, questioning is limited to 20 minutes for each of the eight- een senators. Chairman Arlen Specter (R-PA) leads off, followed by the others, alternating by party in order of seniority.

I don't know, but I get annoyed when I hear them talk about "framers"...they didn't "frame" it, they wrote the damn thing. Activist judges try to frame it.

Especially in central and southern Il....we cannot compete with northern Il and the Daley regime..... We can't even do it in Du Page County, so I can't even imagine the frustration outside the Chicago metro area.
I dream of a day we move out of IL for good.

The USSC was affirming the law in Connecticut as it pertains to Kelo. Many states have the same laws on their books and use it mostly to tear down blighted areas. It has been abused, but rarely will a state ban eminent domain for the obvious reason that it brings dollars to the state.

Yes, Sen Brownback just brought it up. In his closing sentence he said he 'hoped it would be revisited'. His meaning was obvious.
