Day 3: Questioning Continues
This morning, Round 1 concludes with Senators on the Judiciary Cmte. who did not question nominee Alito yesterday. During Round 2, questioning is limited to 20 minutes for each of the eight- een senators. Chairman Arlen Specter (R-PA) leads off, followed by the others, alternating by party in order of seniority.

He has to have a common sense response to that question.
LMAO!!
That should have been BRED in IL. I am slow. :D
oof. Alito quoting OConner. Thats going to leave them confoosed.
Granted I haven't listened to every second of the hearings, but I don't think Kelo has been mentioned even once. And that astounds me!
I beginning to think that. I watched Bewitched, not a great movie, but the scene in which samantha is making him read his lines with different accents and approches at the dinner is great -- and when you realise that he had to be able to DO all those different voices and approaches, it made me realise how talented he was.
"Off topic question..does anyone know who/where first used the term "Framers" to apply to those who wrote the Constitution?"
I have a book that is copywrite 1913 titled "The framing of the constitution of the United States" by Max Farrand. It is old but like the constitution its still good.
I have posted a kind of rant in the general/chat section on Stare Decisis and how the DemonRats are so ignorant they can't grasp it's concept. I think it is a nice read, but then again I wrote it.

placemark for later, gotta go
LOL
Diane has no agenda....bwahahahahahahaha!
what are the people in Illinois saying about Osama Obama campaigning for senator byrd?
That doesn't astound me one freaking bit. But it torques me off. And it ought to tell everyone just how John Q. Public rates with the House of Lords...er, the Senate.
Thanks..I did a Google search..lots of hits..but can't find the original source...I suspect it's even far earlier..almost contemporaneous..
I've noticed that too. Not necessarily a good sign, but I haven't researched Alito opinions on that subject.
That was so obvious that I can't believe the dems ever tried to assert that no 'settled' cases could possibly be overturned.
Could they be tippy-toeing around Kelo because it is so recent and Souter is out there and might be embarrassed? If so, it is not a good reason.
OK...I am back. Brownback seems to be doing a great job. Glad I missed Durbin.
YES!
KELO!
