Day 3: Questioning Continues
This morning, Round 1 concludes with Senators on the Judiciary Cmte. who did not question nominee Alito yesterday. During Round 2, questioning is limited to 20 minutes for each of the eight- een senators. Chairman Arlen Specter (R-PA) leads off, followed by the others, alternating by party in order of seniority.
WEDS., 9:30AM ET, C-SPAN
Powerline Blog has the list of the top five.
Are they going to go for another round I heard something about Schumer but not sure if he too wants a third round, God help us.
Yes they are. Tomorrow morning at 9 a.m. It appears there are 3-4 dems that will speak, Kennedy, Durbin, Schummer (the usual suspects) and possibly Kohl. They are limited to shorter time periods though, and it should go very fast. It will be followed by the testimonials of various supporters or detractors of Judge Alito, starting either at 11 a.m. or 12 noon, can't remember which.
wow....I had to scroll up to see what dastardly thing you said......OOOPS.....you didn't say whatever that post is implying you said!! I believe a mistake has been made and an apology is in order!
Just a few Senators, I believe I heard, and from the sound of it they're all dems.
If their staff listened to the callers on c-Span at the break they know they over-stepped on this one.
Then that is the second call of the day about Mary Jo... good!
I'm laughing - listening to some caller to CSPAN from NY saying he's been sitting home watching the hearings for two days and that probably doesn't say too much about his life.
So Schumer isn't through asking the same questions for a third time? Can you believe this ass?
Actually, Feinstein is speaking in the morning also. Maybe I confused here with Schummer, or maybe both are speaking. We'll find out tomorrow morning.
I hope someone gets the exchange between Spector and kennedy in WMV format soon
Trying to see if they can find SOMETHING, ANYTHING by tomorrow that will be their smoking gun. Sorry fellas, not gonna happen.
Indeed, like it was yesterday. He wouldn't go in the chopper and demanded a ground vechicle so he could bring his freezer along ;-)
These images are awesome. Pictures don't lie. They are worried
That guy is right.
Well, I too have watched from home for two days, but I'm self-employed and can watch and work.
I just saw FNC replay Graham's comments (which I was listening to but didn't see Mrs. Alito tear up) and it almost made ME cry to see her so affected by kind words.
It's often that way -- the kindness makes us break down and the ugliness makes us angry.
They're all the same pathetic person, whether it's kennedy, feinstein, or whoever. They just keep passing the same papers back and forth. Amusing and amazing.
the number of words spoken by the senator and by the number of words spoken by the nominee
They went to far! Now the American people will give all their sympathy and respect to the next supreme court justice. AMEN
Believe me they are going to be polling on this bigtime tonight.
