Day 3: Questioning Continues
This morning, Round 1 concludes with Senators on the Judiciary Cmte. who did not question nominee Alito yesterday. During Round 2, questioning is limited to 20 minutes for each of the eight- een senators. Chairman Arlen Specter (R-PA) leads off, followed by the others, alternating by party in order of seniority.

On CNN Jeff Toobin says the most nervous man in America is NYT reporter David Kirkpatrick. He knows everyone in America and his boss, has reported he found nothing "sensational" in the 4 boxes of CAP papers.
Springer is a lot of things, but high-minded and moral aren't two of them. This is the genius who, as Mayor of Cincinnati, paid for a visit to a hooker with a personal check that bounced.

I read Christopher Lawford Kennedy's autbiography last week; the sheer amount of drugs and alcohol consumed in that family is astounding.

I was talking about what Specter should have said during the argument. I myself have been proven wrong too many times to ever insist I did not recieve a letter or e-mail before checking it out.
You're right, they'll pull something out of it. It won't have anything to do with Alito but they'll try to use it anyway.

I'll never forget when the photo of Ted and a woman on a boat was taking. Senator Howell Heflin commented that the Senator from Massachusetts had clearly changed his position on offshore drilling!
