Iran’s Ahmadinejad: Sharon dead and “others to follow suit”

Tehran, Jan 05 – Iran’s hard-line President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad told a crowd of theological students in the holy city of Qom on Thursday that Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon “has joined his ancestors and others will soon follow suit”, according to the state-run Mehr news agency.

“The Butcher of Sabra and Shatila has joined his ancestors and others will soon follow suit”, Ahmadinejad was quoted as saying. The same report appeared on the website Khedmat, which is run by members of the Iranian president’s entourage.

Ahmadinejad’s announcement of the death of the Israeli Prime Minister comes at a time when Sharon was reportedly fighting for his life on Thursday after a massive brain stroke.

Iran’s state-owned media and newspapers have been reporting the Israeli leader’s deteriorating health condition with evident glee. In a statement put out by state-run news agencies, the Headquarters for the Commemoration of Martyrs of the Global Islamic Movement said “the death of Sharon brings joy to the hearts of Muslims”.

The ultra-conservative president told the radical Shiite Islamists, many of whom have come to Qom from different Muslim countries, that Islam did not restrict itself to geographical borders.

“We must believe in the fact that Islam is not confined to geographical borders, ethnic groups and nations. It’s a universal ideology that leads the world to justice”, Ahmadinejad said.

“We don’t shy away from declaring that Islam is ready to rule the world”, he added.

Ahmadinejad dwelled on his recurrent theme that the return of the Shiite Messiah, the Mahdi, is not far away and Muslims must prepare for it.

“We must prepare ourselves to rule the world and the only way to do that is to put forth views on the basis of the Expectation of the Return”, Ahmadinejad said, referring to the Shiite Muslim belief that the Mahdi, on his return, will establish justice in a world consumed by chaos and corruption.

“If we work on the basis of the Expectation of the Return [of the Mahdi], all the affairs of our nation will be streamlined and the administration of the country will become easier”, Ahmadinejad said.

“Some politicians think we had a revolution so that some could hit others in the head and have one party ruling for some time and another party in opposition for some time. But we had a revolution to achieve a lofty goal, on the basis on the Expectation of the Return”, he said.

Ahmadinejad said Divine Providence was helping Iran’s Islamist regime, as the turn of events around the world picked up speed.

“Our interpretation is that the hand of the Almighty is putting every piece of the jigsaw puzzle of the future of the world in place in line with the goals of Islam”, the hard-line president said.

Ahmadinejad cited the United States occupation of Iraq and Afghanistan, both Iran’s neighbours, as proof of his assertion.

“The Global Oppressor [the U.S.] occupied these countries with the aim of putting pressure on Iran, but God let the fruit of this fall on the lap of the Iranian nation”, he said.

Well, we're about to learn the tragic way that Ahmadinejad is NOT a Westerner.....That is probably good. To the Arab and ME mind, to just SAY a threat or tell what the outcome is going to be in a future event is as good in their minds as actually doing it. I know a ME businessman that threatened non payment of millions just because he was dealing with infidels. He paid three weeks before delivery with a bonus
of 10%, but his buddies heard him and thought "What a tough ol' bastard Achmed is."

I agree, but will there be? I think not. I know Bush would if he could. He knows, as most of us knows, this man will lead this world to the bottomless pit of Hell. Bush's hands are tied. He invaded Iraq. His hands are tied by the left and the MSM until this job is done. This Irainian POS knows this as well. That's why he is funding the idiots who kill are troops. Keep America busy while he builds his weapons. While are hands are tied and while the Europeans sleep, the Devil himself is getting ready to strike.

All I can say now is PRAY LIKE YOU NEVER PRAYED BEFORE.

Pray that rational ideas prevail and those who can, will see the dangers that lie ahead, and do something about this POS. I have always been an optimistic person, but after reading about this guy over there, I see a bleaker and bleaker future for us all. Pray....

Over my dead body, oh yeah that's what they want.

"Mr Ahmadinejad's comments have already resulted in two rebukes from the UN Security Council, and UN Secretary General Kofi Annan also put off a planned visit to Iran in October."

I assume Mr. Ahmadinejad is afraid. Very afraid.
What, only 10 rebukes to go?

"Tough ol' bastard Achmed" didn't follow through on his threat...........whereas Iran is already following through on its threats...amassing conventional weapons, long range missiles, working feverishly to build a nuke. Its not worth gambling when a foaming-at-the-mouth lunatic points a gun at you.

You have an extremely low opinion of the American people. Are you sure you are in the right place. Perhaps the DU would be more to your liking . . . just kidding. Seriously, yes it would hurt the economy. Yes, it would require sacrifice. But do really think that there would be "mass revolt"? I think you vastly underestimate the capacity of the American People.

Islam couldn't rule a litter box.

Anybody doubt that an attack on Iran would gain 75% support of the American people in the early going?"

I do, according to popular vote on the last POTUS election, 50% were democrats. Then out of the Repubs you got a lot of peace loving soccer moms. I would say it is more like 20% would support such an action.

He's starting to sound like that dictator in Woody Allen's Bananas where he decrees that all citizens must now wear their underwear on the outside.

Well that is encouraging, it shows that a shift toward one's pocketbook and NOT murder, raping and backstabing for allah is becoming more of a reality. Unfortunately, we need more Achmeds to stand up to the rest of his crowd and stop calling all of us capitalistic pigs 'infidels'

I suppose that is possible. But that seems short. It's still an uneasy feeling I get. Feelings, they *can* lead me astray...

Wars and such start on funny things. Using this crisis to trigger a chain of events is not unthinkable, and until Sharon is declared dead, it allows for an arbitrary timetable of sorts to get set to strike.

As for fear, on a subconscious level, yes. They still have a subconscious fear to strike as hard as they want to, and their leaders are smart enough to know this. The terror leadership plays its pawns well.

"The West assumes political talk is always misdirection. "He doesn't REALLY mean it."

He means every word of it. It's unfortunate, but this guy seems to really believe this stuff. Bizarre personalities sometimes assume power in nations.

If this isnt enough reason to take him out, then what is?

We need to insure the wages and benefits of our military are attractive enough to make it a viable career as compared to private life. The volunteer military has proven to be the state of the art.

It may be necessary for us ol farts to protect the home front while the women help out like in WWII. The kids of today would be in for a rude awakening.

I still think we can do 99% of it from the air if our hands are untied....
