On January 4, 2006 at 5:00 p.m. (PST) the Rose Bowl Game will host the BCS National Championship, between USC and Texas once again showcasing the best of collegiate football in "The Granddaddy of Them All."® The Rose Bowl will be broadcast exclusively on ABC and on ESPN radio.
Seriously, the officials didn't call USC for crap.
That 1992 Bama team had a underated offense with a solid QB in Barker, RB Lassic and solid O-line. This year's offense was terrible with a Weak o-line. UT and Auburn collected nearly 18 sacks.
Tigers rule is my handle. The poll is still on but he was awarded the honor in a later photoshop. I won't post links because it's a subcription site.
The smoke indicator light might have a problem.
The helicopter will sit there until it is cleared to
fly back to base.
Well, that last one wasn't THAT good a game.
I didn't go to either school just a Hoosier. :) ND was only supposed to win 4-5 game this year so... They did better than what was expected of them and Charlie got the big $ for the school. And all the other teams better be on notice for ND next year! :D
There has been a real love affair with USC the last three years. No one even realizes that LSU and Auburn even exist. I think this love affair even goes beyond that the Notre Dame has traditionally enjoyed (i.e. losing a game and moving up in the polls).
This puzzles me as I don't remember it being that way during USC's earlier glory years.
I've always liked USC but it has just been sickening how this lovefest has gone.
I agree, serious holding by USC all night and no flags.
I dunno. I was just fixed on the USC boosting of Keith Jackson.
Yup. The first half they had Leinart dead. Second half the officials greenlighted degenerate holding by the USC O line.
Maybe it's the Hollywood glitz. There was more talk this year about who was going to be at the game than I have ever heard.
I disagree... I would take a Pocket passer (Peyton Manning) over a running QB(Michael Vick, Vince Young) anyday.
Totally agree - Alabama's offense is one of the worst I ever seen in Div-1. That is why I pointed out that Alabama's defensive unit had to perform under enourmous pressure and was still ranked in the top 2 or 3. It's impressive to have such a ranking when your offense keeps you on the field the whole game.
Oh I agree, just a first down when is should have been 4th and 5 was cutting it way too close.
I guess when the refs change the out come of a game its okay when your on the reciving end.
Still you have to wonder what the outcome would have been without all the freebies for Texas.....
Long time no chat
I hope all is well with you and yours :)
I couldn't agree with you more on posts 3219,3220, and 3221. Jackson and Fouts made me sick (did you hear Jackson say the interception reversal was a bad call!!?!) and Leinart and Bush realized what a real Heisman performance is.
But, but, but ... I always heard that the Man pacing the sidelines at the football game in Heaven with the BS on the back of his jacket was God, who thought He was Barry Switzer. Can that same God be a Longhorn? I think not.
I agree with that he sounded like spoiled little brat! :P
What freebies?
