World Terrorism : Weapons of Disruption Onging...

Weapons of Disruption

C 2006 Frederick J. Cowie, Ph.D.

Whereas we have no masses, it certainly would be seriously challenging to deliver a "weapon of mass destruction" in the vast majority of geographical areas in the American West, as well as in many areas in the East and South. For instance, Montana is approximately the size of Germany, yet the population hovers only around a million (we have one representative in the House). There is no "metropolitan" area anywhere around, though Spokane is about three hundred miles away. Wyoming has more sheep than people. Utah has Salt Lake City and a few nearby populous areas. Nevada has two populated regional areas, Las Vegas and Reno. North and South Dakota have, well, a few folks here and there. Idaho folks are few and far between. I swear you can drive from San Antonio to El Paso without seeing a city policeman, because I've done it several times. Then there are Arizona, New Mexico, eastern California, inter alia. The point is we have a few population points, while the rest of the states are empty excepted for isolated small communities. Thus, out West we probably need to talk more about "weapons of disruption." (Some folks say "weapons of mass disruption," but we have no masses!)

You must ask yourself: What would I do if I were a terrorist (or a terrorism preparedness instructor) looking into the ramifications of launching a rural terrorism attack? Personally, I would concentrate on considering the consequences of disruption rather than mass destruction. Here are a few scenarios you might want consider when your local rural emergency management/response group gathers to discuss terrorism exercises.

1) Wildland Fire Incidents: Incendiary (mostly wildland) warfare has been used by military strategists for at least 2500 years, over a thousand years before the use of gunpowder. The western U.S. is disrupted, seriously disrupted, every year by wildland fires. Quite a few are started by humans, accidentally and purposefully. Starting dozens of major fires in a dozen western states could be a brilliant line of attack if militants wished to disrupt America. Thousands of security personnel could do nothing and the perpetrator/s would probably never be implicated, much less captured. Are you prepared?

2) Railroad Chemical Incidents: Many railroad main lines go through tunnels. A few strategically placed armor-piercing shells in a series of chlorine cars, along with appropriately staged derailments leaving the leaking cars in the tunnels, could shut down many main line routes in the West. Spin-off scenarios are numerous. Ready?

3) Flammable Liquid Incidents: Bridges are not easily brought down from below and approaches to bridge support structures are often highly visible and randomly monitored. However, on CNN we all have seen many tanker truck accidents involving burning hydrocarbons which have made bridge structures unusable. How hard would it be to have a few terrorists steal trucks and drive them (as opposed to hijacking planes and flying them) to strategic bridges over wide rivers or narrow gorges, ignite the gasoline (or diesel or crude), block the approaches with other incendiary or chemical releases, and make the structures extremely dangerous and impassible to highway traffic? Gotcha!

There are many variations of these themes. You probably have or can make up many more plausible, novel, and easily implemented rural-specific attack scenarios. Design exercises around them. If you want to stop terrorist events you must think like a terrorist and quit fighting last year's war!

Peace, thanks, Fred

It's a video, starts out speaking about airstrike in Pakistan!! He mentions the city where it took place and says 18 were killed.

Damn I guess we did miss him.

CNN is vetting it before they play it.

Also makes reference to BL offer of truce which was 12 days ago, so it's very new.

They say this is a very fast turn around for a tape yet.

It's a black background, so he looks like he's in a different place than the others.

He says he is still alive, and Americans should know innocent people were killed in that tape.

Warning that more attacks are coming.

Talks about President Bush spending our money to get our own children killed.

This tape done by Saba, almost professional tape.

Your thread had the scoop on this by about 15 minutes granny!

Here's the Yahoo report.

FROM YAHOO:
CAIRO, Egypt - Al-Qaida No. 2 Ayman al-Zawahri said in a videotape aired Monday that President Bush was a "butcher" and a "failure" because of a deadly U.S. airstrike in Pakistan targeting the bin Laden deputy.

Al-Zawahri, shown in the video wearing white robes and a white turban, said a Jan. 13 airstrike in the eastern village of Damadola killed "innocents," and he said the United States had ignored an offer from al-Qaida leader Osama bin Laden for a truce.

"Butcher of Washington, you are not only defeated and a liar, but also a failure. You are a curse on your own nation," he said, referring to Bush. "Bush, do you know where I am? I am among the Muslim masses."

The airstrike hit a building in Damadola, killing four al-Qaida leaders. Thirteen villagers also were killed in the strike, angering many Pakistanis.

The video was Zawahri's first appearance since the airstrike.

"My second message is to the American people, who are drowning in illusions. I tell you that Bush and his gang are shedding your blood and wasting your money in frustrated adventures," he said, speaking in a forceful and angry voice.

"The lion of Islam, Sheik Osama bin Laden, may God protect him, offered you a decent exit from your dilemma. But your leaders, who are keen to accumulate wealth, insist on throwing you in battles and killing your souls in Iraq and Afghanistan and — God willing — on your own land."

The video came in the wake of a Jan. 19 audiotape by bin Laden in which he warned that al-Qaida is preparing attacks in the United States but offered a truce "with fair conditions" to build Iraq and Afghanistan.

Al Qaeda Detainee's Mysterious Release

Al Qaeda Detainee's Mysterious Release Moroccan Spoke Of Aiding Bin Laden During 2001 Escape

By Craig Whitlock Washington Post Foreign Service Monday, January 30, 2006; Page A01

RABAT, Morocco -- For more than a decade, Osama bin Laden had few soldiers more devoted than Abdallah Tabarak. A former Moroccan transit worker, Tabarak served as a bodyguard for the al Qaeda leader, worked on his farm in Sudan and helped run a gemstone smuggling racket in Afghanistan, court records here show.

During the battle of Tora Bora in December 2001, when al Qaeda leaders were pinned down by U.S. forces, Tabarak sacrificed himself to engineer their escape. He headed toward the Pakistani border while making calls on Osama bin Laden's satellite phone as bin Laden and the others fled in the other direction.

Customer says she found a needle in the soup.

There was also a report of a needle in a loaf of bread. Now I can't remember the state. I can't write and remember what they're saying verbally at the same time. :)

Hmmmmmmm, it gets worse.

Giant Pulls Soup From Shelves After Needle Found in Can
Jan 30th - 9:14am

BETHLEHEM, Pa. (AP) - Giant has pulled some lots of Progresso canned soup from 122 stores in Maryland, Virginia and two other states after someone reported finding a sewing needle in a can of minestrone soup.

The incident was the fourth report of needles or pins found in food purchased at stores in Pennsylvania's Lehigh Valley in the past two weeks.

Last week, at another Giant store near Bethlehem, a man reported finding a rusty sewing needle in a loaf of bread. Two other incidents were at a King's Supermarket in Bethlehem, in which customers and employees reported finding pins in an onion, packages of ground beef and a ham.

Company spokesman Dennis Hopkins says Giant is pulling soup with a similar lot number from shelves of all its stores as a precaution. Hopkins says the chain also is increasing its undercover security.

Giant is owned by the Dutch food company Ahold and operates 122 supermarkets in Pennsylvania, Maryland, Virginia and West Virginia.

Anyone who bought Progresso Authentic Recipe Minestrone soup at Giant can get a refund at the place of purchase. The can involved in the latest incident had an expiration date of "7 Nov 07" and a combination of letters and numbers "N-V M-S-6" and "13-21-2."

Well, I guess sewing needles are only slightly more palatable than used hypodermic needles.

Good morning.

The simple difference between us and them is that The Patroit act was written, approved and installed, available to read by anyone in the world.

In Russia, you turn on the radio and Putin has just signed a new law and you are in trouble for simply being alive.

Yes, President Bush can do the same, but rarely does.

The other countries do not need to send spies here, all they need to do is set down at the computer and granny google.

The rest of the secrets, come from the chat rooms and the U.S. Government printing offices.

And send a few students to our Universities.

All special agents assigned to the Counterintelligence Program are
required to successfully complete this course. Computer-based
distance learning courses are also available to all personnel on a
variety of counterintelligence topics.<<<<<<

LOL-"I told you so", all a good spy needs is a computer.

"As the remaining world superpower, the United States is targeted from
nearly every corner of the globe. The FBI will focus its counterintelligence
resources on those countries and non-state actors having the greatest
potential to harm US interests, and will work to gain a greater
understanding of the threats they pose. Specifically, the FBI will examine
threats related to terrorism, espionage, weapons proliferation, national
infrastructure, US government perception management, and foreign
intelligence activities.<<<<<<<<<

Above says it all........

LOL......I made a note to me that this had several 50 cent words and would make good googles.

The Russia thread in 1781, is heavy on my mind, there are so many things posted on that thread, that I want to think about. And I want to check out Jan's website.

I have felt as tho, I was looking for "something" for days now.

LOL.....my kids always thought I was a spy, or a mind reader, I raised my brothers and sister, 4 of them.

By the time that my kids came along, I didn't need to read minds, just look at them and see the guilt.

Of course, at one point, having a friend who lived on the path home, about mid-point, who was retired and liked to
set on the porch and "keep an eye on the young", helped.

Mr. Brown, would phone if he thought the kids were out of
line.........LOL

If I had of gotten an education, instead of kids, I might have been something else, but then I wouldn't have been me.

I think I followed lots of path's, just as God ordered me to do.

I have been following Lunev for several years.

If my memory is correct, Art Bell interviewed him several years ago, Art did several interviews along this line.

I recall one lady, who had written a book, she is an ex-leader of Russia's niece.

The lady was interviewed by Art and she had one main message and even asked for permission to re-state it.

She said Russia is not done with the evilness and will take over America, to never give up the fight.

She said also that Russia was continuing with the top weapons making and lots more, it was quite a conversation.

But good ole stupid America, gives the Presido in California to a russian, and now we have a state (calif) that is more communist, than russia is.

I am glad Art is back, but wish he would tackle the real problems and not "life on the moon". what a waste.

Jim Bohannon has also interviewed several good authors, i haven't checked his website and don't know if he has his programs on the computer, but his website is:
jim bo talk.net

I wish that I could find the report that I found on the internet, about russian scientists, who live in America and send all that they work on back to russia.......russia is paying them a small monthly fee for regular reports.

Your google on the hidden russian WMD's, reminds me of the nazi gold hidden in the U.S. and world.

Isn't it funny (sad) that 66 years ago, the nazi hid gold and today they hide WMD and then sell it for gold.......

http://www.google.com/search?client=googlet&q=where%20is%20the%20nazi%20gold%20hidden%20in%20the%20U.S.

Do Not start googling Nazi gold, you will be lost for months, and come back to Soros. That was his start, some say and proof exists.

Treasure hunters are still searching for it.

And if you take a look at the nazi war criminals that have been found hiding in America, you have to believe it was true.

There was another nazi deported in 2005 from the U.S.

WW2 there were lots of Nazi who were in Mexico and they attempted to invade the US from there.
