Breaking on CNN live right now.
Agreed -- just saw this on local TV but this is still well north of both Tinker AFB and Del City with winds pushing it away from both areas.
Perhaps if you had to sort out the plethora of crap...
No it isn't, according to the reporters covering it. The fire is 5 miles northeast of downtown, and the wind is from the west.
Really strange...all the rain in the west and southeast...and the dry and heat in TX/OK. I am in the southeast and we are expecting severe weather tonight....very unusual for New Year's. Will keep you in prayers....and pray for rain your way.
There are no 'weekend moderators'. We all work our own schedule and most are here every day of the week for unscheduled periods and varying lengths of time
My dad and I were watching Channel 9 showing some guy with a pickup and a water tank fighting a fire on his own.
This is not about the fires, but about the flooding in CA - I went to Fox news yesterday (which I haven't done for a looong time) and some of the pictures of people on the main page had those weird photo shopped eyes! Their coverage of the floods was almost non-existant and the photos are idiotic (pics of people watching things that you couldn't see etc). I emailed that about both - and the photo shopped pictures were terrible. I asked them if they had Jason Blairs working there as well.
Official on phone to CNN: It appears that the OKC file is 'contained' but not out.
They may have lost a couple of houses, but are now letting it burn itself out.
Has Bush got of his Butt yet ?
A bummer, working on a holiday huh?. I hope you are getting double pay:')
Maybe you should start your own thread (in General/Chat) for this discussion.
Sooner & 50th. Also, near Sooner & 67th.
I didn't start the discussion of moderator schedules
Prayers for our beloved freepers in Norman, OK
You can look up the addresses here:
http://maps.google.com/maps
(fire is supposed to be in the area of 50th and Sooner, which would be southeast of the I-35 and I-44 intersection)
Oh, I understand that. But, people getting their knickers knotted over having their post moved off the sidebar is just silly.
And only one network covering it!
I wish they could have some of the rain we're getting in CA's Central Valley.
I was listening to that official and wondering what he was looking at. I see many houses in those pictures burning, I don't know how he comes up with two. Then he responds that he couldn't see what was going on in those neighborhoods when the reporterette referred to the scores of houses burning.
