Right. "Reach into the White House..." these lunatics still do NOT get it. It is the Dinosaur Media's pet stooges who are going down this time. Going to be hard to suddenly demand the 1st Amendment protects them when they all gleefully rejected that protection when they thought the Plame-Wilson scam job was going to "get Bush".

...investigation would focus primarily on disclosures...

Primarily? Oh, that's interesting.

Nice spin by the LAT, too. Hope springs eternal, eh?

It's Rockefeller, Leahy, and that FISA judge who just resigned. Throw in some disgruntled CIA types and maybe a few Clinton holdovers at Foggy Bottom and that'l be a pretty good start at taking out the trash.

Find 'em. Indict 'em. Prosecute 'em. Convict 'em. Jail 'em.

The Justice Department inquiry could extend into all branches of the federal government

Can you say legislative branch.

a potentially contentious criminal probe that could reach high into the White House

LASlimes' kneejerk 'blame it on Bush' impulse.

I guess Bush faked the leaks like he faked 9-11, right?

"Eric H. Holder Jr. — deputy attorney general in the Clinton administration and acting attorney general briefly under Bush — said Friday that he believed existing laws were sufficient for the kind of surveillance needed to protect Americans from attack."

Funny, Clinton must have had a problem with the existing laws since he conducted plenty of warantless searches. What about that Eric?

" Holder said he thought the probe would probably reach into the administration's inner circle."

Great, now maybe the lefties/terrorist supporters will join in calls for investigation into leaks.

" Holder said the administration should express support for a full airing of the domestic spying program that prompted the leaks."

Yes Eric, why have any secrets during a time of war?

"reach high into the White House" - LAT

This is the latest case of how desperate and out of touch the Left is with reality.

To them, all fingers of guilt point "high into the White House."

The Left has been so miserable for so long now (since impeachment and thereby ruination of the "Clinton Legacy" followed by the 2000 election and ever decreasing political power) that they never miss a chance to bend common sense reality in order to soothe their psyche's.

It's actually incredible to witness.

paving the way for a potentially contentious criminal probe that could reach high into the White House, Congress and the courts.

Lets think about this for a second.

Congress: Pretty much a no brainer. It's about a forgone conclusion that someone in the Congress was talking to the papers about something they shouldn't. Talk about the usual suspects.

Courts: Possible, but somewhat less likely. Judges, especially FISA ones, would be very well versed in how to follow proper Whistleblower laws, and would be very unlikely to risk open criminal activity when there are legal alternatives.

The White House: Although it sounds absurd, I'm sure the Democrats and MSM have noted that President Bush's approval rating is climbing rapidly the more this spy 'scandal' continues. Perhaps an evil genius like .... KARL ROVE ... arranged the leak in order make the Dem's look soft on terrorism, and the President look tough.

I would love to see the people more concerned with politics than America's security jailed for life.

So, if it does reach high into the White House, then I guess they go to jail.

The MSM funny farm is going to get their wish -- Jail the editors.

These media people are beyond pathetic. I didn't think it could happen, but it looks like Bush will singlehandedly destroy the lamestream media, for good.
