Didn't read the article, but Go centrists! Whether it's just plain politics or patriotism, it's still good to have these people saying something positive.

Alternate headline "Some 'rat politicians are starting to pay attention to the polls".

Bingo. With the notable exception of Joe Lieberman, I think you are correct.

Guess some Red State Democrats read the polls where even 57% of DEMOCRATS agree with President Bush on the NSA Wiretaps

These Democrats say attacks on anti-terrorist intelligence programs will deepen mistrust of their ability to protect the nation's security, a weakness that led in part to the defeat of Sen. John Kerry, the Democratic presidential nominee, last year.

"led in part" to Kerry's defeat. Well yeah, that plus John F'n was just about the worst campaigner since, well, Al Gore.

You can bet the left and their pals in the MSM have been polling on this issue and are finding out the results are not what they hoped for. We would be seeing a poll everyday were the results in their favor.

Most Democrats these days are not "centrists" ideologically. They are in red or swing districts/states and fear their safe brethern in liberal districts/states will cost them their seats. Most of their comments are merely self serving politically, rather then evidence of conscience. There are exceptions, but they aren't the rule.

Believe me I'd love to see a resurgence of true Scoop's and Truman's in the Party. But I've seen little evidence of that occuring, only more practical Dems scared Cindy Sheehan forcing them to get a real job because constituents balk at electing Dems in association with her.

Still, I will take these Dems over people that willingly and deliberately sell out our national security in leaks and word.

December 28, 2005--Sixty-four percent (64%) of Americans believe the National Security Agency (NSA) should be allowed to intercept telephone conversations between terrorism suspects in other countries and people living in the United States.

Looks like some RATS are getting a clue from the polls. Too bad Arlen Specter does not have a clue. The GOP should remove him from being Chairman of the Judiciary Committee. He is a risk to national security.

A FYI post: While reading Ron Chernow's Alexander Hamilton on page 343 and following, we learn that the 1st Treasury Secretary was busy trying to come up with means to raise money to pay the war debt. Taxing trade could only do so much. So of course he turned toward a sin tax, an excise tax on spirits.

Curiously, one of the FFs thought it okay, according to his Report on Public Credit to allow the army of inspectors the power to enter homes and warehouses at any hour to seize hidden spirits, yet they "can't search and inspect indiscriminately all the houses and buildings of people engaged in business..."

Eventually, it all led to the Whiskey Rebellion and supposedly the reason for some of our whiskey distillers locating where they are now.

Hey, Dems.........there's no such thing as a "centrist" Democrat. It's like saying you're a little bit pregnant.

No matter what you call yourself, if you vote Democrat, you're supporting the left-wing, treasonous socialists and commies that hi-jacked your party years ago.

You become, however unwittingly, a partner-in-crime to these amoral scumbags who suck you into their vortex where no one is "centrist" and you find you lost your soul when you voted for them.

I do also, but he must be like Zell Miller - once a Dem always a Dem. John F Kennedy would be a "conservative" today. Stood up to the Commies on Cuba and wouldn't back down.
