[history]
China will never go down, and don't think you can banish communism. Because the people won't let it. They know they are the last standing, they are the only ones left. America is in a decline while China's climaxing, America will go down. We are just done with our prime, if anything, we were going into a depression since 1992 (and don't say you don't know that year). Communism is the American's medias' worst nightmare, because of censorship. I hope we all have to read one newspaper and wipe my butt with one brand of tiolet paper. I hope we all die for our next generations to wear the red armband. We deserved 9/11, and they enjoyed it. You probably hate me now, I know, you just still think like its 1945, well too bad its 2005. We only stand to fall.

Well, since it IS 23 years old, and hasn't had the care and maintenance it should have had in at least the last seven years, I won't complain. At the moment, it's an inconvenience.

Yepper...especially since I only paid $500 for the truck in the first place! ;o] That can't happen in Ireland, not easily anyway. We have the 'National Car Test', which effectively eliminates most old cars off the road, and thus driving the cost of newer cars higher.

We have "emissions" tests, so that if it gives off too many particulates in the exhaust, it has to be fixed or junked. Otherwise, we can buy and sell just about anthing that moves.

I got it from a friend. I had bought a vehicle from him once before. I actually drove this truck back from Vegas, where I bought it.

The emissions test is part of the NCT, an understandable test for urban areas, but there are other tests for 'road-worthiness', which means too many faults mean simply getting a new car.
It's a bit crazy - I believe older cars are better for road safety, simply because they aren't as well tuned, therefore slower - speeding and overtaking are the biggest killers on roads.

If you buy a used car from a car dealership, some states have a "lemon law" which means within a specified time, if something goes wrong with the car, they can return it for refund or exchange it for another vehicle. If you buy it from a private owner, it's "caveat emptor."
And until Tuesday, this truck hadn't had a tune-up in seven years, but the engine just purred. I had no qualms about driving it here from Vegas. I don't have qualms about making the round trip next week, either.

I am familiar with the term lemon - we call lemons 'bangers'!!
