Cheney's iPod Takes Top Priority on Extended Flight (MSM Whine Alert)
ABC News ^ | 12/23/05 | Karen Travers

WASHINGTON, Dec. 22, 2005 — After a four-day overseas trip that took him to four countries in the Middle East, Vice President Dick Cheney really wanted to get his iPod charged for that long return flight to Washington.

Since it is his plane, the vice president's iPod took priority and was plugged into one of the only working power outlets on Air Force Two, frustrating reporters who were trying to file stories.

Were I Mr. Cheney, I would tell the offended cub reporters that if they don't like the fact it is my airplane and I'll use it as I please, to feel free to buy their own airplane and use it as they want. What horsesh** from the MSM.

What! ABC reporters out of touch? How can that be? Have they ever been in touch? I shudder when our local Gannett rag arrives and I find leftist AP reports about everything they think is wrong with Bush and his admin. It's disgusting, but true, but ABC is actually worse than AP, so I have no sympathy for the poor idiots.

You know, I find it funny that when I get into the wife's car we listen to what she has on the radio.

His plane, his iPOD.

What a spoiled child. I guess the VP's comfort should be interrupted so the almighty "reporters" can continue with their work. I can't believe ABC published this story, their hatred blinds them. I wish I could find a picture of Karen Travers

Eh So after her all expenses paid trip, this is the BEST story Karen Travers came up with. (The fact she needed her batteries charged or alternatively had a lame---aka the dog ate my homework---excuse for not having a decent story to file).

Hope ABC got their money's worth out of Ms. Travers.
No wonder the MSM is sinking like a rock.

Cheney probably wanted to use his iPod because he was listening to Rush's Podcasts!

Shows how stupid the media is. They could have filed their stories AND allowed Cheney to charge his iPod. They could have just plugged the iPod into one of their laptops and it would have charged.

Or even simpler, they could have booked a seat on a commercial flight rather than bumming a free ride off Air Force 2 and then complaining about it.

The most ironic thing is that THIS is the story that the reporter couldn't file on time.

The fact that this so-called 'story' has even been reported shows that some reporters simply have no common sense or sense of shame. I would never (1) imagine that I should be able to comandeer a power outlet on the airplane of the VP of the USA, no matter what the circumstances, and (2) If I were a jet-setting reporter I would certainly carry extra batteries, etc.; (3) It would never, ever, ever occur to me to whine about such a problem to anyone, never mind publish it to the world as a whiny snivelling tearful account of how mean the VP and his staff must be...... are reporters like this lacking in ALL elementary decency and humanity, or are they merely narcissistic stooges who think the VP of the USA should accommodate himself to their every whim? Wait, don't answer that....

The media is always looking for ways to belittle the leaders of our country.

Think through THIS story. There are obviously more than one plug, because the story says he used "one of the only" plugs. Assume there weren't only TWO, since they would have clearly said he took one of the only "two" plugs if that was the case, so there must have been at least three.

Which means that all he did was bump ONE reporter at a time from using the power. Instead of 3 reporters at a time using power, now only 2 reporters at a time could use it. Which means that whichever reporters got their first "bumped" all the other reporters, preventing THEM from filing.

Now, think about this. Here's a plane with a limited number of power outlets, presumably a lot less than the number of reporters. They fly on this plane all the time, and now for this ONE flight they have lost the use of ONE power outlet.

Why don't they all just carry extension cords? Each one lets THREE people plug into ONE outlet? They could spend a couple of bucks and get a few of these, and the whole planeload of journalists could plug in whatever they want.

Now, if there is a limit to the POWER they need, I'm guessing that recharging an I-Pod wouldn't use any significant amount of the power.

I pretty much carry a 3-outlet adapter everywhere I go, in case I need to plug anything in at a hotel and they have used up all the plugs.

Actually, it's my plane (along with a bunch of other taxpayers) and I give the Veep permission to charge his iPod.
