Santa is a republican definitely. Santa gives his own property to children of his own free will.
If he was a democrat Santa would rob us all at gunpoint to redistribute the wealth to homeless street urchins, quadruple murderers and never-do-wells.
Well, since St. Nicholas was a fundamentalist (by which I mean Bible-believing and following, not the somewhat loaded term or denominational term used today) Christian, he would be a Republican.
And they won't allow drilling for oil in Alaska, which reduces the number of jobs available in Santa's neighborhood, so I'm thinking that Santa will probably give them a lump of coal.
""""What would Santa think of that?""""
Do I sense a new bumper sticker here???
Why God is a Republican and Santa Claus is a Democrat
P. J. O'Rourke
I have only one firm belief about the American political system, and that is this: God is a Republican and Santa Claus is a Democrat.
God is an elderly or, at any rate, middle aged male, a stern fellow, patriarchal rather than paternal and a great believer in rules and regulations. He holds men accountable for their actions. He has little apparent concern for the material well being of the disadvantaged. He is politically connected, socially powerful and holds the mortgage on literally everything in the world. God is difficult. God is unsentimental. It is very hard to get into God's heavenly country club.
Santa Claus is another matter. He's cute. He's nonthreatening. He's always cheerful. And he loves animals. He may know who's been naughty and who's been nice, but he never does anything about it. He gives everyone everything they want without the thought of quid pro quo. He works hard for charities, and he's famously generous to the poor. Santa Claus is preferable to God in every way but one: There is no such thing as Santa Claus
Santa may know who has been naughty or nice, but he doesn't care. Everyone gets presents.
God knows who has been good or bad, and there are definite penalties for being bad. As he puts it, "it is very difficult to get into the Heavenly country club."
At the end of the day, there is no Santa Claus. But, there is definitely a God.
Let's see:
He takes the credit for a lot of other people's gifts & work (Dem)
He works one day a year (Dem)
He expects treats from every home in the U.S. (Dem)
He drives an environmentally-friendly vehicle, but uses animals in the process (wash)
He's jolly (Pubbie; Liberals are Miserable)
He actually cares about kids (Pubbie)
He has good values (Pubbie)
He provides employment to hardworking "little people" that many would consider the "disadvantaged" (Pubbie)
If he's from Alaska, he's probably a Pubbie!
Santa makes toys and gives free toys to EVERYONE. Democrats steal free toys from the rich and middle class, takes half for themselves and gives out the leftovers to the poor. Big difference. Santa is a Republican. Gives away HIS toys, not someone elses.
He's a senior citizen. Democrat.
He's a Saint (Nicholas). So not Democrat.
He gives stuff to everyone (Democrat), but it's his own stuff to give and he gives it out of generosity, not taxation (so Republican), and he only gives it out to the nice and not the naughty, so that kind of judgementalism is, of course, Republican.
He enslaves the reindeer brotherhood and wears fur (Republican).
He works one night a year (Democrat).
He smokes a pipe (tobacco=Republican, other substances=Democrat (or Libertarian)).
Considering that Santa comes from Saint Nicholis, a Roman Catholic Saint, there for Santa is a Christian, belives in Christ, so he can not be a Democrate.
Santa might enjoy the year off
He's an independent Conservative, not fond of politics in general. A FReeper, too!
Republican. Santa gives good kids toys. Bad kids get coal. Really bad kids get something shoveled from the reindeer stalls!
How does Santa know who is naughty and who is nice?
Can you say "CIA"?
