Mr. President will you tell us all about this secret program?
You're right. There's a strategy at work here, and having W nattering on continuously until people can no longer hear him is not the way to further it.
What Bush has done is to let the D's natter on until people don't hear them, and now he's forcibly reminding folks about the really stupid things they're saying and doing.
Politics isn't a precise business, so this might not be fully effective. But it is certainly going to be highly effective, and that's about as good as W can hope for.
They are playing to an audience that reads (when they are forced) at a 5th grade level........
The UN SC passed "NUMEROUS RESOLUTIONS" (he said with raised eyebrows)
So how is this any different from actually being at war? Is it any less of a war because the Congress has not formerly declared war? Was Korea a war? Was Viet Nam a war? Neither were "declared".
These media goobers didn't even listen to his freakin' speech!
Pres: Two committees on the Hill responsible. One is the intelligence committee. Of course we consult with Congress.
Question (Wendell Goler): You talked about your decision to go to war and the bad intelligence and you carefully separated intel from right decision to go to war. WIth erspect, the intelligence helped you build public support for the war. Now that you look back, do you feel the intel bears responsibility for the divisions about the war and what can you do about it.
Pres: Everyone thought there were WMD. I thought the same way. We looked at the intel and felt certain Saddam had WMD. Intelligence agencies around the world felt the same way. Congress looked at the same intelligence estimate I looked at and came to the same conclusions.
It was so universal that the UN Security Council passed numerous resolutions, so when the WMD weren't there, we were concerned so we set up a commission to address intel shortfalls.
What we did find was that Saddam had the desire to reconstitute his weapons programs; he had the capacity. America was still his enemy. Of course, he manipulated the Oil for Food program. He was just waiting fo rthe world to turn its head.
I will continue to speak to the American people about the process going forward.
We've still got three years; I'm sure we'll hear that before then.
Coach Parcells is the master at destroying reporters with stupid questions.
Damn these reporters are so damn biased it would be funny if they weren't trying to bring him down.
Dang I have nothing but disgust for the Media.
FINALLY HE TELLS THEM TO READ HIS SPEECH, that WMD were NOT the only reason we went into Iraq!
GAWD, they make me insane.
Was that great, or what!!!
He is also a master at destroying those Cowboys. Argh.
Exactly right Howlin, that's what they see their job is.
They aren't smart enough to actually investigate a story fully and report it fairly. They truly don't have the intelligence. Most of them anyway.
He's right on target and he knows it. Bush should bypass the Media and the Rats all the time and come straight to the people. He's just won a double header.
LOL!
In the past, military thought they'd be a civil war...they've changed that thinking now. NO civil war in Iraq.
His biggest mistake was NOT coming out sooner with these speeches as of late. Our President is on a roll...majority of Americans will be all over these lieing dembos.
