CAMBRIDGE, Massachusetts (AP) -- A former MIT professor and multimillionaire businessman who has been praised for his riveting lectures but also known for his family disputes was ambushed outside his office and shot multiple times, authorities said Saturday.
John J. Donovan was taken to Massachusetts General Hospital after the shooting Friday night and later released, hospital spokesman Arch MacInnes said Saturday.

There's plenty of Europeans ( mostly former Eastern Block ) who have an ax to grind with Soros. Wouldn't surprise me at all to see someone from there settle the score with him.
This is not possible. Handguns are illegal in Massachusetts.
According to what I read he was shot multiple times but was release from the hospital the same day.
What was he shot with?
Musta been a pea shooter...
I'm betting spit balls...
Or was he wearing body armmor.
I have to admit I was wondering about Soros, myself! I shouldn't have such bad thought, especially on Sunday.
In an ambush even with a .25 Raven you should be able to make a kill shot to the head.
Leads one to believe this was an act of rage.

No you shouldn't. Also it's very close to our dear Lord's birthday. I don't agree/like/or approve of Soros, but it is wrong to wish violent criminal acts against anyone.
Did John Kerry get caught in a Viet Cong rice gun attack? Will he be sitting uncomfortable for the next few days?
I wasn't HOPING it was Soros. I was just WONDERING if it was.
Thank you. I'm glad you made that clear. There is so much violence in today's world, and I believe that our society contributes to it by wishing/visualizing/verbalizing misfortunes on others.
He was shot in the belt buckle....
Shot several times...released from hospital...
Makes me wonder if the good prof. didn't set this up as a publicity stunt.
Wow. Ordinarily I wouldn't give two shakes over some CNN article, but this article presents more angles than trigonometry test. We get a taste of incest, greed, conspiracy and a mess of other high profile possibilities. This guy taught electrical engineering AND pediatrics - no dunce. On top of that, he's a zillionaire with a family feud. I bet the cops are eating aspirin just thinking about the mess this guy presents.
Don't knock the raven. It's small, fits in a pocket well, and is reasonably accurate up to about five yds. The length of my deck is 8 yds, just right for a 5 yd range. Best of all it's cheap, the perfect weapon for someone on a low fixed income.
If I can ever afford it, I will probably upgrade to a kel-tec because of it's light weight and small size.
WOW, at first I thought it was the "Johnny Donovan"
of radio announcers fame......
