Pres. Bush was just on LIVE - he's mad (vanity)
12-17-05

Posted on 12/17/2005 7:26:12 AM PST by STARWISE

He's mad .. and rightfully so. Without any notice, his Sat. radio address was televised live. He's putting Congress and the press on notice that he's got the authority to do what he's done to protect US .. that Congress was notified at least a dozen times about these NSA oversights .. and that the press leaks and any such security leaks are illegal and are aiding and abetting the enemy. Whoo .. fireworks to come, and go get 'em W!

Too bad for the Democrats but this stuff is logged somewhere and easily provable.

I sent Frist an email pointing out that since the troops are working 24/7 over the holidays, that the Senate should cancel the holiday break to finish these crucial national security issues.

They don't deserve to be home with their families at this time, especially considering they wasted time with steroids in Baseball and S.P.E.C.T.R.E. involving himself with the TO contract.

We'll know soon and we all should hound the press, talk shows, bookstores, Amazon, etc. who will profit from selling a traitor's book. The book, of which the SLIMES release is an excerpt, comes out next month .... but, ooh, I forgot, the RATS are the altruistic, compassionate ones .. they're not capitalists like the mean, money hungry Pubbies ... /sarc.

Report: Justice Department Probing Durbin, Rockefeller CIA Leak

The Justice Department has launched a criminal investigation into whether Democratic Senators Dick Durbin, Jay Rockefeller and Ron Wyden leaked details about a secret "black ops" CIA satellite program last December in a move that may have seriously compromised national security, former Deputy Undersecretary of Defense Jed Babbin said on Saturday.

"The CIA made a request to the Justice Department to investigate and possibly bring criminal charges against these three [senators]," Babbin told WABC Radio host Monica Crowley. "My information is that investigation is ongoing."

Rockefeller is the vice chairman of the Senate Intelligence Committee and Durbin is the No. 2-ranking Democrat in the Senate.

Media reports on the satellite leak last December indicated that the Bush administration was concerned about public comments by Durbin, Rockefeller and Wyden and that the CIA had requested a Justice Department probe.

"The formal request for a leaks investigation would target people who described sensitive details about a new generation of spy satellites to The Washington Post, which published a page-one story about the espionage program Saturday [Dec. 11, 2004]," a Justice Department official told The Associated Press at the time.

But the same official told the AP that Justice "has not decided whether to investigate."

Former Deputy Undersecretary Babbin's comments on Saturday were the first indication that such a probe was actually launched and is ongoing.

"The fact of the matter is that [Durbin, Rockefeller and Wyden] divulged something that was above and beyond top secret and frankly, they probably blew the strategy and the hundreds of millions of dollars that were being spent to pursue it," Babbin told Crowley.

"The acknowledgement of [the "black ops" program's] existence is not even proper and the acknowledgement of them and the details of them can very well damage national security," Babbin added.

Asked if he thought the three Senate Democrats should have their security clearances revoked for the duration of the leak probe, the former Defense Department official said: "Absolutely and forthwith. I mean, they should have been revoked at the time of the leak."

"There's really not much doubt about the leak having occurred," Babbin told Crowley. "It's in the press records, it's in the Congressional record. We know what they did."

"The only question," he explained, "is how much damage was done by the leak. And that's part of the criminal investigation right now - to do a damage assessment, to figure out how much this is going to cost us strategically and militarily."

The President in his speech tomorrow night needs to look into the camera's and ask America if they are aware that their elected leaders are putting you, your children and grandchildren in harms way with the treasonous acts. Then announce loudly: I will not let this happen and will use every ounce of energy and resources to keep you safe. I am directing the Attorney General to immediately begin an investigation of those responsible for the leaks....and I will personally guarantee all my fellow Americans when they are found they will be prosecuted to the full extent of the law!

Is it the same as a declaration of war?

Yes. The War Powers Act is about WAR.

Mo..Thanks for the ping. I missed it.

I was watching Washinton Journal late last night on c-span. Brian Lamb was talking about the article and had highlighted in blue that anonymous or unnamed sources were used 29 times in the NYT article! 29 times! The journalist from the WAPO said it was awful, that she may not have run an article herself like that.

but it's really getting to me!

I truly, genuinely understand this. I experienced this a lot during the early and mid90s. And still got up to fight; and to understand how much bigger these things are and involve than just a "clip", and require patience, diligence, and vigilence. The "patience" part is hard; But Keeping the Faith can be the hardest. And yet, it is key to all the others in path to Victory.

I know the feeling ..... may it stir us to action .. calls, emails, faxes .. let the bums know that we're furious and sick of them. Start with Feingold .. then Reid, Pelosi, Kerry .. and anyone else who will come out of the woodwork today and forward to attack Bush. This could be building to their impeachment scheme.

I have had it. I am so pissed. I am pacing the house, screaming at the TV, drinking way too much coffee.

I think a lot of patriots in America feel just like you. I am so furious right now I can't see straight.

Let's hope the seditious traitors responsible for this and like crimes finally get to see the righteous fury of the other side.
