Today President Bush participated in a roundtable discussion on the Medicare Prescription Drug Benefit program at Greenspring Village Retirement Community in Springfield, Virginia.

This afternoon he met with Republican leaders in the Roosevelt Room at the White House to discuss strategy in the War on Terror.

Tonight at 10:00, MSNBC will broadcast the complete hour long interview of Brian Williams with President Bush (and Mike recommends it, so it's got to be good!)

Enjoy your trip to Sanity Island on the Daily Dose!!

Full house, indeed! The noisy one is getting home in a few days..............I think I'll enjoy the silence until she does. :)

They interviewed an elderly, white-haired Iraqi woman in the States who was voting .. and she said, "Anyone who doesn't appreciate America and Pres. Bush and all he's done can go to HE**!" I cheered her .. God bless her for speaking the truth.

Even Bill whatzishame on Cnn (bald) was gleeful at the excitement in Iraq .. the jubilation. He said parents brought their children .. all were in their best finery .. their very special clothes .. and they put purple ink on their childrens' fingers, too, so they'd know how momentous this was. It was a stunning report from him .. even he couldn't contain his joy. Can't hide freedom's song.

Laura just radiates love and joy, doesn't she?

I'm not sure I've ever seen anyone like her before.

Her beauty comes bursting out from inside of her. It's amazing!

Sometimes I just imagine the private pleasure he gets out of besting them at every turn.

WE get discouraged and down, but he is IN control.

He just patiently waits for the right moment and then BAM! His enemies are defeated.

It's like watching a chess match played by a master. Good stuff!

Pres. Bush on Iraq Vote
On the day before the election of a new Iraqi government, Pres. Bush delivers the fourth and final speech on his strategy for victory in Iraq. Calling the election a "remarkable event in the Arab world," Mr. Bush considers it a milestone in building democratic institutions that "protect the interests of all the Iraqi people."

WEDS., 11AM ET, C-SPAN3 / FOX will probably carry this.

He is just so REAL, Deb. He has been unscathed by this Presidency.

He is the same man today as he was the day he took office............wiser and deeper, to be sure..........but the same, genuine, 'loving guy' he was on January 20, 2001.

Most of our cookies come from our Swedish tradition. I'm surprised the Vikings didn't bring their cookie recipies when they invaded the British Isles. :)

Cookies certainly seem to be an American Christmas tradition it is sad but in Britain very few people bake biscuits or as you call them cookies

Hi snugs, I think this comes mainly from the large
population of Americans of German background also the Swedes and Danes. That is a big tradition in those countries and carried over here for over 250 yrs.

I think Prince Albert brought many German Christmas traditions to England during the Victorian era.

People eat them they just do not make them. We have the danish butter biscuits in the shops plus all the English biscuits but very few people make their own.

Ohio:

Here's a quick and easy recipe for your holiday baking:

Take the small circle pretzels that are only found during Christmas. Unwrap a Rolo candy and place in the middle of the pretzel. Bake at 250 degrees for about 4 minutes until rolo candy is soft, take out of oven and place a pecan on top. These are to die for.

That's too bad. It's a fun family thing to make cookies together.

We have one kind of decorated cookie that we all bake and frost and paint together. It's one of the most fun things we do to get ready for Christmas.

LOL - you will probably miss the noise when they leave. It seems it is just part of the life cycle.

As a very dear senior citizen friend says, I can't wait for them to get here, and I can't wait for them to leave. ;*)

Yes you are right the Christmas Tree, Christmas Cards, scraps and of course biscuits/cookies that are hung on the German trees. We tend to put chocolate decorations on ours not biscuits. We can buy the German gingerbread ones though either chocolate covered or iced. We have a supermarket in Ashford which is actually German owned and that has quite a lot of the European Christmas items including the German Gingerbread and stolen.

Wow sounds wonderful. I remember about 5 years ago that had chocolate pretzels in the shops but I have not seen them since maybe they were only a limited edition or not popular.

I love rolos though do you have the same advertising slogan regarding saving the lot rolo for the person you love.
