I believe the Governor might be receptive to an appeal for clemency, if Tookie would admit his guilt, but the man is willing to die with a lie on his lips.

He wont. He is smart to wait until the very last minute. Keep passions in check.
My thoughts too...
Arnold did not want to put the city on alert over the weekend...
Let the cops enjoy their weekend before doubling up the force.

Is let Tookie liiivve---"
I thought is was PETA chanting,
"Turkey don't deserve to die---
Let Turkey live"

no Arnold is just being cautious after all
every time something deemed anti black by the young blacks and street gangs seems to promote a race riot,Arnold has to appear to be considering it,we all know if I a native-american Caucasian did the crime I would already be dead
this is basically a double standard in California, one rule for the liberal bleeding hearts syndrome, and the other for the rest of us...pull the plug already

Wasn't Tookie George of the Jungles bird? As in Tookie-Tookie?

Ahhnold's gotta problem and he knows it...."Let Tookie Live" is 1 decision away from "Set Tookie Free".
If he grants clemency, its far from over.....

His Supreme Court has provided Arnold exactly the cover he needs. He should simply leave it at that.
The court found the appeal without merit.
Not Arnold, but his press secty should simply state that the governor felt the court's review was thorough.

The real problem here is the extremely long amount of time between conviction and the carrying out of the sentence. Tookie has been on death row for 24 years. If the system carried out the sentence more promptly, the families of the victims would have seen justice a lont time ago, a message would have been sent to the Crips gang that he started, and this whole current debate would not exist.

I'll be shocked if he doesn't pardon him. He knows what will happen if he doesn't. Riots, etc.

If he grants clemency, there will be a massive effort for a new trial. Tookie wants to be free.

He would be foolish to grant clemency, because all of the courts who have weighed the evidence, have stated NO clemency, No appeal for the last 25 years or so...
lol, the ninth circus court of appeals might do it though and save Schwarzenegger the stress...

If he grants clemency, there will be a massive effort for a new trial. Tookie wants to be free. Bingo....the protesters are simply in Phase 1.
Phase 2 is freedom.
Phase 3 is Tookie for President.

In this case, and in my opinion, Tookie's death is required for their to be justice and sanity.
Irrespective of whatever books he has written and so-called good he may have done since, none of that has not brought back to life the four he brutally killed, or filled the void he caused to be left behind for their loved ones.
If he has helped others...good. Now let him finally pay for what he did to the four he ruthlessly murdered.

I am so glad that he used his time in prison to atone for his sins and crimes, and to help troubled youth not follow a similar path.
For his sake (though I honestly hope not) this works in his favor when he goes before the ultimate arbiter, sometime tomorrow.
