Israel readies forces for strike on nuclear Iran
The Sunday Times ^ | December 11, 2005 | Uzi Mahnaimi, Tel Aviv, and Sarah Baxter, Washington

ISRAEL’S armed forces have been ordered by Ariel Sharon, the prime minister, to be ready by the end of March for possible strikes on secret uranium enrichment sites in Iran, military sources have revealed. The order came after Israeli intelligence warned the government that Iran was operating enrichment facilities, believed to be small and concealed in civilian locations.

Iran’s stand-off with the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) over nuclear inspections and aggressive rhetoric from Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, the Iranian president, who said last week that Israel should be moved to Europe, are causing mounting concern.

The crisis is set to come to a head in early March, when Mohamed El-Baradei, the head of the IAEA, will present his next report on Iran. El-Baradei, who received the Nobel peace prize yesterday, warned that the world was “losing patience” with Iran.

A senior White House source said the threat of a nuclear Iran was moving to the top of the international agenda and the issue now was: “What next?” That question would have to be answered in the next few months, he said.

Defence sources in Israel believe the end of March to be the “point of no return” after which Iran will have the technical expertise to enrich uranium in sufficient quantities to build a nuclear warhead in two to four years.

“Israel — and not only Israel — cannot accept a nuclear Iran,” Sharon warned recently. “We have the ability to deal with this and we’re making all the necessary preparations to be ready for such a situation.”

The order to prepare for a possible attack went through the Israeli defence ministry to the chief of staff. Sources inside special forces command confirmed that “G” readiness — the highest stage — for an operation was announced last week.

Gholamreza Aghazadeah, head of the Atomic Organisation of Iran, warned yesterday that his country would produce nuclear fuel. “There is no doubt that we have to carry out uranium enrichment,” he said.

He promised it would not be done during forthcoming talks with European negotiators. But although Iran insists it wants only nuclear energy, Israeli intelligence has concluded it is deceiving the world and has no intention of giving up what it believes is its right to develop nuclear weapons.

A “massive” Israeli intelligence operation has been underway since Iran was designated the “top priority for 2005”, according to security sources.

Cross-border operations and signal intelligence from a base established by the Israelis in northern Iraq are said to have identified a number of Iranian uranium enrichment sites unknown to the the IAEA.

Since Israel destroyed the Osirak nuclear reactor in Iraq in 1981, “it has been understood that the lesson is, don’t have one site, have 50 sites”, a White House source said.

If a military operation is approved, Israel will use air and ground forces against several nuclear targets in the hope of stalling Tehran’s nuclear programme for years, according to Israeli military sources.

It is believed Israel would call on its top special forces brigade, Unit 262 — the equivalent of the SAS — and the F-15I strategic 69 Squadron, which can strike Iran and return to Israel without refuelling.

WOW! What a data rich source. Once the Sand Savages find this data, their famous facility with technology will result in fizzled out fission "incidents" throughout Muslim cities scattered around the world.

And here is a related joke. Why do Arabs not learn to use screwdrivers?

Screws and screw drivers often have crosses on the end and their faith forbids any act which actively uses a cross, let alone fitting a cross shaped tool to a cross shaped hole in another tool.

Muhammad decreed that all such tools were to have crescent shapes! And the Great Satans refuse to heed the WORD ! ! !

Good luck to Israel if USA does not aid them it will force a nuclear response by Israel, lets hope a better plan will decapitate the leaders of IRAN but things look bleak.

Since Iran threatened to destroy Israel pre-emptively, Israel BETTER strike Iran first.Among nations words have consequences.

Daniel 10:20...interesting

"but I shall now return to fight against the prince of Persia......there is no one who stands firmly against these forces except Michael your prince"

Then again, Ephesians 6:14

"For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the powers, against the rulers, against the world forces of this darkness, against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places"

I believe it is no coincidence that the rise of nuclear Iran threatening Israel's very existence is occuring at the very moment Christian's and their beliefs are being attacked in this country from every side.....spiritual warfare

it's not just ISRAEL folks--what would stop IRAN from firing ONE missle over the U.S from a ship and having a EMP blast? turning us into a 19th century country

Ezekiel, writing from his historical vantage point two thousand years before Columbus sailed the ocean blue, gave this description of the battlefield:

"And I will plead against him with pestilence and with blood; and I will rain upon him, and upon his bands, and upon the many people that are with him, an overflowing rain, and great hailstones, fire, and brimstone." (38:22)

Now, let's leave Ezekiel aside for a moment and pretend we are prophets writing from our vantage point in history, trying to predict three years hence.

Israeli intelligence determines Iran is on the verge of developing nuclear weapons. Ahmadinejad's call for wiping Israel from the map is now a practical possibility.

Since the US is currently involved in operations with Syria, Iraq and Afghanistan, it is up to Israel to take out Iran's nuclear facilities or live under the threat of instant annihilation at the whims of guys like Ahmadinejad.

With no other choice, Israel launches its strike, taking out much of Iran's nuclear infrastructure, together with the thousands of Russian contractors, scientists, security personnel and administrators stationed there.

Iran, furious at being deprived of its nuclear ambitions, turns to the wounded Russians and together, they launch a surprise retaliatory invasion of the Jewish state.

Neither Europe nor the UN are prepared to stand against nuclear Moscow, particularly in light of Russian casualties inflicted by Israel in an attack that meets the definition of an act of war under international law.

Such an attack would provide all the excuse necessary for the rest of the Arab world to declare war on Israel and join in on the invasion.

That scenario puts the invading army on the mountains of Israel. It leaves Israel with the choice between its own annihilation and use of nuclear weapons to destroy the invaders.

Sound about right?

The above scenario is not only possible, it is probable, given that Iran will not give up its nuclear ambitions and Israel can not allow Iran to achieve them.

And it is an exact match to Ezekiel's prophecy, right down to the various members of the various alliances and their various positions relative to Israel as they exist in this fifth year of the 21st century.

The only differences are that my scenario is an educated guess based on conditions as they exist today, and I could be wrong about the exact order and detail.

Ezekiel wrote from Babylon, one hundred and fifty years after the Kingdom of Israel was destroyed by Sargon the Assyrian and two thousand five hundred years before a sovereign nation called 'Israel' would again be numbered among the nations of the world.

"Remember this, and shew yourselves men: bring it again to mind, O ye transgressors. Remember the former things of old: for I am God, and there is none else; I am God, and there is none like Me, Declaring the end from the beginning, and from ancient times the things that are not yet done, saying, My counsel shall stand, and I will do all My pleasure." (Isaiah 46-8:10)

"what would stop IRAN from firing ONE missle over the U.S from a ship and having a EMP blast?"

check out this article on the EMP risk:

Here is part of it:

It shouldn't have. Particularly when Iran is estimated to be only months away from being able to build nuclear weapons. In September 2000, Iran test-fired a new variant of its Shehab-3 missile. It exploded shortly after take-off in what was described in the Western media as a second 'failed missile test'. (An Iranian test conducted in 1998 also exploded shortly after takeoff.)

Although the Shehab-3 has a range of almost a thousand miles, in both tests, the missiles exploded about 180 miles from their launch-site.
What if the tests weren't a failure? The EMP Commission report notes that a nuclear missile detonated 180 miles above the earth, would spawn an electromagnetic pulse that could fry one third of America's powergrid.

How does it work? An EMP attack would damage the national power grid, unprotected computers and all devices containing microchips, from medical instruments to military communications, and knock out electronic systems in cars, airplanes and those used in banking and finance and emergency services.

wake up america

Iran, though not yet a nuclear weapon state, has produced some analysis weighing the use of nuclear
weapons to destroy cities, as “against Japan in World War II,” compared to “information warfare” that
includes “electromagnetic pulse...for the destruction of unprotected circuits.” An Iranian analyst
describes “terrorist information warfare” as involving not just computer viruses but attacks using
“electromagnetic pulse (EMP).” (Tehran, Siyasat-e Defa-I, 1 March 2001)
An Iranian political-military journal, in an article entitled “Electronics To Determine Fate Of Future
Wars,” suggests that the key to defeating the United States is EMP attack: “Advanced information
technology equipment exists which has a very high degree of efficiency in warfare. Among these we can
refer to communication and information gathering satellites, pilotless planes, and the digital
system....Once you confuse the enemy communication network you can also disrupt the work of the
enemy command and decision-making center. Even worse, today when you disable a country’s military
high command through disruption of communications you will, in effect, disrupt all the affairs of that
country....If the world’s industrial countries fail to devise effective ways to defend themselves against
dangerous electronic assaults, then they will disintegrate within a few years....American soldiers would
not be able to find food to eat nor would they be able to fire a single shot.” (Tehran, Nashriyeh-e
Siasi Nezami, December 1998 -January 1999)
Iranian flight-tests of their Shahab-3 medium-range missile, that can reach Israel and U.S. forces in the
Persian Gulf, have in recent years involved several explosions at high altitude, reportedly triggered by a
self-destruct mechanism on the missile. The Western press has described these flight-tests as failures,
because the missiles did not complete their ballistic trajectories. Iran has officially described all of these
same tests as successful. The flight-tests would be successful, if Iran were practicing the execution of an
EMP attack.
Iran, as noted earlier, has also successfully tested firing a missile from a vessel in the Caspian Sea. A
nuclear missile concealed in the hold of a freighter would give Iran, or terrorists, the capability to
perform an EMP attack against the United States homeland, without developing an ICBM, and with
some prospect of remaining anonymous. Iran’s Shahab-3 medium-range missile, mentioned earlier, is a
mobile missile, and small enough to be transported in the hold of a freighter.

Wouldn't it be interesting if the new government in Iraq decided to declare war against Iran for the multiple provocations by that renegade state?

Gee, I wonder what they might target in such a scenario.
