SAN FRANCISCO -- Director Rob Reiner said Wednesday he will not be a candidate for governor in 2006, putting to rest rumors of a potential "Meathead vs. Terminator" showdown with Republican Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger. "I've made a definite decision that it's not something I'm going to do," Reiner said in a telephone interview with The Associated Press.
Reiner, the director of hit films that include "When Harry Met Sally" and "A Few Good Men," said concerns about his family and a desire to focus his political energies on passing a ballot initiative establishing universal preschool for California children had persuaded him to stay out of the governor's race. ...

Why should he run? Arnold is liberal enough for them. The real issue is that they're just PO'd that Red Davis got the sack. I think they're getting over it and looking forward to the political needs of 2008.
In these dark days of Liberal Tomfoolery here in California, there is always SOME great good news.

He's probably done a few quiet polls or surveys, and knows he can't win.

Reiner would lose. Dems don't want to blow this opportunity: an inept Dem-kissing RINO is in office...for now.
IMO, Meathead and Terminator need to stick to what they do best...movies!
Reiner has actually directed some of my favorite movies.
