I liked Hennesey, but if we include it, can we include McKeever and the Colonel, too?

That was Terrence Knox, who was just right as the Sgt. Interesting, though, to see Lee Majors as an older Pfc.

Hey, look at this. You can buy the entire first season (1965) of Branded at Amazon.com and it's been discounted, too (go figure).

Loved it! I even remember where some of it was filmed.

Dana Delaney was in China Beach. Kim Delaney was in Tour of Duty.

I had forgotten all about Tour of Duty.

I didn't like any of the comedies except M.A.S.H. I could never understand the appeal of a sitcom revolving around a war theme. For example, we all laughed at the stupid Nazis in Hogans Heroes, but the real Nazis were responsible for millions dying and they were anything but stupid. M.A.S.H., for all it's left-leaning politics seemed to be the only war-oriented sitcom that had a conscience.

I agree that Band of Brothers is the best mini-series ever. But I thought this was about weekly TV series.

Oh.

Well, in that case, nothing comes to mind. "Black Sheep" was sorta fun as an action adventure series. I guess.

My older brother was 4-F during the early 60's because of a really bad knee (had several major operations as a kid).I once told him that if he wanted an accurate picture of Basic Training he should watch the first 30 minutes of Full Metal Jacket.

I did assure him, however, that very few recruits actually murder their DI,although most seriously consider it at least once or twice.
