My Post Office Experience Today

Posted on 11/28/2005 2:17:49 PM PST by maineman

My daily trip to the USPO was one for the books today. As I was having my packages stamped a Women came along side of me and asked the clerk if they sold any stamps that didn't promote violence. The clerk was miffed, I was pissed, as she cut into my space. The Women said the American Flag stamps represent murder around the World. I suggested she move to Cuba as she will be able to buy several books of Castro stamps. She called me a Bush-Fool, a new one to me. I asked her to tell me exactly how we were killing people around the World...I-R-A-Q was her answer. I told her we were spreading Democracy and asked her to get back in line. As I left she yelled that I was a rightwinger, I told her "MERRY CHRISTMAS". That ticked her off. Thought I'd share.

This is a situation where I would not have been...not necessarily proud of it, but the word b****slap was created sprecifically for an instance like this.

My grandmother and mother would be crushed but my grandfather would have been OK with it.

Hilarious. Good job standing up to this wretch. If you ever see the rat bag again, tell her to use Stamps.com where she can personalize her own stamps with pictures of Bin Laden and Al Zarqawi, you know, those 2 peace lovers who keep leaving a trail of dead civilians in Iraq while American forces try to protect them against these two psychotics.

Isn't there a Reagan stamp?

My husband bought a ton of them a while ago.

Sounds like a loon to me- she just wanted to make some kind of weird scene. I have friends who can make a logical (for them) argument against the war without name calling and Bush bashing. A sane person who is against the war would have found scads of 'non-violent' stamps around. I have the new Greta Garbo, myself :)

Especially in new York City, especially with unattractive females, you get this slopheadism... at a quite fancy dinner in the Hyatt Regency, a major watering-hole, 'tother night I was ambushed ("accosted" is too mild a term) by Maureen Dowd (in spirit) spitting expletives about "Bush robots" and the DNOF (Dark Night of Fascism) currently enveloping us all.

As an ex-Regular Officer (and so on), I really would've liked to turn this porker slowly on a spit. I merely asked if she knew that in Castro's Cuba everyone lived to be a hundred and became a dollar-millionaire channeling Silicon Valley by age 22. It took a minute for her to register the complex nature of the insult, but being a typical humorless, unimaginative native of Left Limbo, though struggling mightily her rapier wit failed to flash. Off she went, grumbling and fussing like the Dowd she was.

What a bunch of dolts.

You handled it all wrong. You should have punched her lights out and claimed the violence-promoting stamps made you do it.

Ugh. disgusting stamp.

I would love to have that lady in my line. I would have bought her a sheet of the stamps honoring the Marines...with their pictures on them. She would be forced to use them cause Libs are so cheap!ha. ha.

Our post office has no military....only entitlement civil servants. You would think they were doing you a favor with their surly attitudes and lazy shuffling.

The moveon.org fans are a rude crew. We are seeing some pretty offensive bumper stickers. If you voted for Bush you are a millionaire or a fool. That is a mild one. My daughter is enrolled in a masters program and was told by others to remove all Bush/Cheney stickers or any GOP stickers for candidates off her vehicle before she went on campus to park. She did it. I don't blame her. Courses are too expensive to take a chance.

On my upcoming Iraq deployment, I'll be sure to try and help take out a few bad guys...just for her.

Thank you for your service - - - hope you'll be able to stay somewhat in contact with us while you're over there.

That woman was truly deranged. Not only does she have to loudly proclaim her point of view, but she thinks everyone else should care about it and agree with her. If she wants to make a fool out of herself, she can join up with Cindi Sheehan.
