I heard on the radio this morning, that a pilot of a passenger jet departing LAX claimed to have narrowly avoided being hit by a missile. It was reported that the jet was about 6,000 feet in altitude & over the ocean when the event occurred. The news report further stated that authorities believe it was possibly a flare or a "bottle rocket."
I googled but found nothing. Anyone else have some info on this? I dont recall whether it was CBS or NBC radio news.
It is definitely not a dead-end story yet!
32,724 views.... 5000 more than just a couple of days ago. Someone's still interested!!
You are so right...some huge numbers of readers!
The other site is trying to catch up by starting in the middle of the story. They are trying to discount the entire story by denying one small part of the information.
They also have a couple of posters who are trying to knock out all opinions by saying they know better than any other people.
Very difficult to read and care what is said.
All the early information is dismissed to just concentrate on a radar report and discard the pilots observation, or other crew, and as we have read a passsenger too.
It's now been 2 weeks and no, this story is not a dead-ender. It seems slowly but surely more info keeps dribbling in.
I hear the MSM now reporting about how passenger jets are being equipped with some sort of anti-missile device. I know this has been in the works for some time - I sure hope this becomes a reality pronto. Somehow it fits in nicely with what transpired in the recent past. I dont doubt the authorities are scrambling to get this activated asap.
How did you determine the number of views?
When someone posts a topic initially, I can see the views, but now that this topic is off the front page, I lost that ability.
Ping to my posts 681, 682, 683
I posted this previously. Similar incident and the radar also shows an anomoly (dramatic change in altitude) at the precise time of the SAM. We were told this was a flock of birds...
"This is odd. I
went to the passur site...checking the times and altitudes on AW17.
Check the altitude on the plane at normal speed. Specifically,
18:53 - 18:54.10,
Type in September 15, Time 18 hours, 50 minutes. Hit the buttons on
the top left, then check box on bottom right.
I'm not familiar with radar as it pertains to a flock of birds, but
is it possible radar altitude readings would be affected?
Is it me, or did that altitude drop from nearly 10,000 feet to 7,700
and then back to 10,000 again?

I just put the title in "search" and when the list it comes on screen it gives the number of views too.
gotcha! I shoulda thought of that...
32,907 views...wow...
Just on FNC, Transcript of pilots radio message to control tower.
Great! I missed it though, hopefully it will be repeated again.

I worry that we won't get past the holidays without a plane being hit.
to Txflake: Just on FNC, Transcript of pilots radio message to control tower.
What show did Fox read the transcripts on? I missed this.
Just bumping in to see if I am missing anything...last time this story seemed dead....the radar and sound appeared!
The number of views is astounding and means we are all very interested and concerned.
Driving for the Christmas holiday....
Drive safely and have a Merry Christmas!
Thanks, I hope you are warm, safe and enjoying family too.
Lets remember to ping each other if we see anything connected to this ...I can not let this go!
NYT false story to promote a book and defeat the Patriot Act vote are both so hard to swallow today....I think I'm drowning in their lies and attempt to GET BUSH at the cost of our freedom.
I e-mailed Rush 24/7 to ask him to suggest some individual actions that might fight back. I thought he might be getting ready to compile a list of voters against the security of all of us. Maybe organize a group to work for their defeat...I'd do that! RINOS have to go!
