I heard on the radio this morning, that a pilot of a passenger jet departing LAX claimed to have narrowly avoided being hit by a missile. It was reported that the jet was about 6,000 feet in altitude & over the ocean when the event occurred. The news report further stated that authorities believe it was possibly a flare or a "bottle rocket."
I googled but found nothing. Anyone else have some info on this? I dont recall whether it was CBS or NBC radio news.
Really, I know that we hardy Americans will usually not change our lifestyles for any reason, but as long as the government refuses to let the people know about these attempted terrorist acts I feel like say no way to air travel.
At least if I know the real odds I can kid myself.
Thanks

Thanks for the update.
"The plane was over water when the pilot said he saw a smoke trail pass by the cockpit.
FBI agents believe it was a flare or a bottle rocket, but say they may never know if that's what it actually was."
Anyone care to tell me what flare or bottle rocket can pass a jetliner? Hmmmmm?
I do remember those threads...did not make the name connection...mentally
I wonder if this will go further?
I do not know more buttons to "push".
I am hoping that someone gets through to Rush on a call today.
I sent several email messages to 24/7. Drudge email seems to have gotten his notice finally.
You're welcome.
Then there's this:

Police stop truck carrying anti-aircraft missiles in Toronto-area highway
TORONTO (CP) - The army is looking into a bizarre incident in which a tractor-trailer loaded with anti-aircraft missiles was seen rolling down an Ontario highway.
Several police cruisers were needed to pull over the vehicle as it travelled westbound on Highway 407 near Toronto. The trailer was carrying two armoured personnel carriers bearing Department of National Defence licence plates and loaded with anti-aircraft missile launchers.
Police say the carriers, formerly registered to the Princess Patricia's Canadian Light Infantry, were supposed to be delivered to Montreal on Thursday.
Police took the driver into custody at the scene, and the armoured carriers have been taken to a storage depot.
A spokeswoman for the Department of National Defence says the army is investigating.
"At this point, I don't have any confirmation on anything," said Lieut. Morgan Bailey.

I emailed a guy at the So Cal Rocket Assoc. and this is his reply: "I can tell you that a model rocket (no bigger than 2 x G motors) could not reach 6000 ft unless it was very small in weight and drag to achieve maximum altitude. In addition, there are no legal launch sites anywhere near the takeoff path from LAX. (Same for the landing glide path)."
Thanks, I checked it out...they seem to be at the beginning and quoting us for information(from first 2-300 posts?)...nothing investigative.
Now that is a very strange story coming out of Canada. I guess there might be a follow-up to this event? Let's hope so.
How interesting.
A day after the delivery was to be made...traveling in what direction?
Everything takes on sinister meanings in the current cover-up atmosphere.
Glad to hear you could verify the opinions of members in the early hours of this thread.
Now what is your opinion?
"The pilot is mistaken, what he really saw was a spark in the center fuel tank.
I don't think anyone was really fooled by that lame explanation all those years back"
I do wonder. Has anyone noticed that the number of jetliners leaving New York city that have dropped out of the sky recently has dropped to zero? For a while it was about once a year.
In my opinion, it was a MANPAD. "They" warn us things like this are going to happen and then "they" tell us crap.
I agree...and I think center fuel tanks as a cause of a crash...but all other airliners not grounded is "hoey" too.
Driving may not be very safe but at least my life is in my own hands...partly! LOL
