Missile Attack On Passenger Jet?
Radio News | November 28, 2005

Posted on 11/28/2005 4:49:25 AM PST by texianyankee

I heard on the radio this morning, that a pilot of a passenger jet departing LAX claimed to have narrowly avoided being hit by a missile. It was reported that the jet was about 6,000 feet in altitude & over the ocean when the event occurred. The news report further stated that authorities believe it was possibly a flare or a "bottle rocket."

I googled but found nothing. Anyone else have some info on this? I dont recall whether it was CBS or NBC radio news.

I cant see them taking responsibility here in America. That would give the feds direction to finding them and killing them.

True story. A lawyer I used to work with had a brother in the FBI who was involved in the investigation. We avoided talking about politics because she was a raging Clintonista and we didn't want to get into any arguments. Anyway, she overheard me one day at work mention the flight 800 cover-up. She told me that her brother, although never coming out and saying it, strongly hinted that it was a missile. That removed the last vestige of doubt that I ever had.

This just posted by Radio proucer who called the station.

I just talked with the news director of the station in question and he said they did not broadcast this story. "It's news to me," he said.

Thanks! My curiosity about the story has intensified since it's disappeared.

As far as I could tell, it was the normal, on the hour abc radio news that's normally on, not any local feed. Same as you heard.

I heard it on the radio at the top of the hour 10:00 am. It was ABC news. It was reported just like you said. They reported the FBI saying it was probably a flare or bottle rocket. Sounds like a crock, you would think that if they were not sure they would report it that way. Another reason not to believe the MSM.

Maybe the producer wasn't up early enough to hear it?

Speaking of which... did they ever finish retro-fitting ALL the center fuel tanks on those jets?

Well, yes and no. For aircraft that were to stay in service, the refits were done per the Boeing recommendations. However many of the aircraft were simply withdrawn from service as they were too close to the end of their useful life to justify the time and money to upgrade the aircraft.

I just got off the phone with the guy at WTAW, 1620 AM.
Phone number 979)695-1620.

He heard the same news report, at 6:00 AM. He had a hard time believing the bottle rocket theory, too.
He checked his AP reports - nothing.

He stated, "maybe a bad story - that's why no further news."

Believe it or not, I was listening to ABC radio on 9/11, and at about 9:30 they reported that the FBI said that the WTC attack was "not terrorism."

Until the second plane hit, the odds of it being terrorism were no higher than the odds of it being an aircraft suffering from flight control failure.

We are flying out of LAX on Dec. 8 to visit our other home in Texas. I hope we are safe!

6000 feet is at the limit or above the range of a SA-7.Easily in range of a SA-16 or SA-18.

Okay TexianYankee, thanks for the clarification, that's good to know.

Please ping me as soon as you get any updates on this. It will be interesting to hear the story or at least why other news outlets didn't run with it.

Thanks for calling the station. This is very strange. Maybe they can't prove it was a rocket because it landed in the ocean. Maybe they called it a bad story because it can't be proved.

It's because we have the same CIA and FBI under both administrations.

Haven't you ever seen three stage bottle rockets?

Would those be north korean no-dong bottle rockets?

"why would they hide current attacks?"

The TWA 800 case would have to be opened back up and would mean that this started under Clinton.

"Or a leftover flying frozen Butterball."

Had to chuckle at your comment, it brought this story back to mind.

" Sometimes it really does take a rocket scientist
Scientists at NASA built a gun specifically to launch dead chickens at the windshields of airliners, military jets and the space shuttle, all traveling at maximum velocity.

The idea is to simulate the frequent incidents of collisions with airborne fowl to test the strength of the windshields.
British engineers heard about the gun and were eager to test it on the windshields of their new high speed trains.

Arrangements were made, and a gun was sent to the British engineers. When the gun was fired, the engineers stood shocked as the chicken hurtled out of the barrel, crashed into the shatterproof shield, smashed it to smithereens, blasted through the control console, snapped the engineer's backrest in two and embedded itself in the back wall of the cabin, like an arrow shot from a bow.

The horrified Brits sent NASA the disastrous results of the experiment, along with the designs of the windshield, and begged the US scientists for suggestions.

NASA responded with a one-line memo:

"Thaw the chicken.""
