The first thing we are told is don't get captured. We know that if captured we will be tortured and beheaded on the Internet. As such, for our guys, every fight is to the death. The infantry fighting is frequent, up close and brutal. No quarter is given or shown. Surrender is not an option.
Not much differant than fighting the 19th century comanche indians. US Cavalrymen refused to surrender to the comanche knowing they were a sadistic, ghoulish, race of people who took prisoners only for the pleasure they derived in their torture and mutilation. The comanches couldn't understand why the cavalrymen, when trapped, dug in and fought to the finish. "Why won't they surrender so we can torture them to death", they wondered. I'm not certain, but I think the only way to pacify the comanche was to practically kill them all.
I wonder what "manchurian candidate" McCain has to say about this.

Thats also why our soldiers have more contempt for MSM journalists and Democrat politicians than the Jihadi terrorists I agree. The EMENEDIA and the Democrats are the enemy from within, doing all they can to sabotage success in Iraq!
Thanks for the ping Fred!

Our esteemed MSM reports mostly the bad, slants the news and commentary against us, and far too many Americans still believe in the integrity, truthfulness and impartiality of what they see and read. Politicians follow the polls, and our MSMs influence shows. I noticed that our esteemed Congress Critters did not start working against our Military and for the Jihadists until the polls started to show people were falling for Jihad Cindy and her line of BS.
Its a vicious cycle. The news influences the people, politicians jump on the bandwagon, the news reports more politicians against the war, more people believe its wrong (because Our Betters say so), more politicians storm and rage against the war.

We may be winning, but there are still too damn many of our people dying. I wish the President had the political balls to destroy the next town found holding insurgents. If that doesn't work, then destroy a couple more. Get 'em all, if you have to.
The accomplishments of the Iraqi people for the next thousand years are not worth the life of the least of the people we've lost there. It's a damn good thing that we're doing this for wider purposes other than some ragheads in Baghdad being able to vote. At least I still believe that...

Most of the carnage is caused by the Zarqawi Al Qaeda group. They operate mostly in Anbar province (Fallujah and Ramadi). These are mostly foreigners, non-Iraqi Sunni Arab Jihadis from all over the Moslem world and Europe. Most enter Iraq through Syria with the knowledge and complicity of the Syrian government
In the Baghdad area and south, most of the insurgents are Iranian inspired (and led) Iraqi Shiites. The Iranian Shiia have been very adept at infiltrating the Iraqi local governments, police forces and military. The have had a massive spy and agitator network there since the Iran-Iraq war in the early 80's.
So AlQueda from Syria and Shiites from Iran. And why is it we allow Vietnam redux sanctuary situations to exist TODAY?
Hit Syria and Iran, destroy their air and crush their infrastructure, that will do more to stop IEDs than anything. You start to threaten those countries ability to govern and they will send the word out to stop this insurgent/terrorism.

Bottom line though, and they all say this, there are not enough of us in Iraq to drive the final stake through the heart of the insurgency, primarily because there aren't enough troops in-theater to shut down the borders with Iran and Syria.
Then get more troops, start the draft, mobilize the country and GET IT DONE. Is this a war or another Korea/Vietnam police action?

Fantastic read, and thank God, the internet is making a huge difference this time. The MSM and Libs are like the Wicked Witch in The Wizard of Oz, melting away.

I'm impressed that you have a TV show and contribute to radio shows. If they are broadcast here in the northeast, please let me know. Thank you for your work.

BIG TIME THANKS for posting this. I have already forwarded the story via e-mail to several conservative friends.

Cool tidbit. The world's record for a sniper is 159 that is held by a US Marine in Vietnam.
